Just after some info Where the side and the other cladding meet,'see pic" can i use this stuff, its like a mastic puddy "see pic" to seal the van and then put my Ali strip on and screw it down as the paint is new and dont want to go rubbing it

Tasmillard & Vincent threads have good pics info on that. The main issue for the new paint is the squeeze the excess back under the ally Jstrip to fill the gaps & look neat. Being winter it would not hurt to use a hair dryer on low heat just on those corners a couple of times a day, hold off on the corners till you need to do them &hopefully paint should be hard enough to survive the squeeze back rubbing of mastic.

As above as Ate says, a sharpened plastic ruler I used to cut the access from my windows, BUT I had not painted. I think for the edge strips I would use Mastic from the tube, easier to fill the gaps & replace the strip & clean up with a rag & turps. While the Ribbon mastic is great for windows I believe it would be difficult here as being too thick. Have a read of Shayne's project Shayne's edge strip scoll down to edge strip, ( about half way)
