I think Antenna Mate is an IOS app only at this stage. Not sure if there's an equivelant Android app.

Another small win tonight. the new shelf/cupboard/TV stand is completed far enough to get the TV working. There will be cupboards below the TV and another shelf above, but again, may not have time to complete it by Corowa. Love the shelf rail - makes it look very 70's. 👍 All timber will be stained a light Maple colour and varnished - the test bit I did looks good. Starting to think I won't need the inverter at all with this van, everything runs fine off 12 volts. Fridge is running 24/7 now to test the battery/solar setup. All working fine at the moment, so can't see a problem at the moment.
Can't even think of how many hours spent on it now. I know the financial cost and the Insurance covers this but doesn't even begin to cover the labour involved....
10 hours each Sat and Sun and 2 to 3 hours each night. Boy, I'll be glad to take a holiday in it - first puting will be 9 nights so a pretty good shakedown. 👍😊

"Can we go on Holidays now so I don't have to work on this van" Everything is finished on ours except for the painting and solar panel, OH and registration We will see you in a couple of weeks Mrs hh

Top score with the milk shaker! Is the Tupperware Aussie or USA? underneath should also have date code, cryptic usa - real aussie. Did you try out the brown/green loo stuff?

Tupperware has 'Melbourne' and 'Made in Australia' on it so that answers that. 😊 Haven't tried the blue loo out yet - will take it with me to Corowa. Got the whole van cleaned out and the dishes I'll be using washed and put back in. All cupboards wiped out and ready for use. Another bit done on the shelf unit too. Quite a productive day. Pic below shows the shelf and you can see in the background I've also got one of the inner spring mattresses I had put aside for this cut down and in the van. Not a perfect fit, but if the single beds work out I'll get new custom mattresses made. E5FB301E-A42D-4D3D-985F-9B505E4D01FD by Gavin Gregory, on Flickr

Just remember the Tupperware leeches toxic oil, so no long storage of things & will be OK, for health & taste.

The Aussie stuff is healthier than the US, i still use my late 70s Aussie made stuff for sugar & pasta. I have a 1967 green classic tub, that will still taint the taste of a salad all these years & thousands of washes incl dishwasher, later. Been in storage almost a decade so should toss it but it was a "party pressie"to my late Mum, waaay back when.

Do you think a 30 YO bottle of blue loo stuff would still be ok? Aqua-kem is still sold today, not sure if it's the same product though. I still have a half brown bottle full at home somewhere, we used it in the open drop dunny when camping. Not sure I'll tip it into the porta-potti though, could be hard on the rubber seals.

Ok, shelf unit is finished for now. The shelves at the bottom will have some boxes made up to fit in them, again - after Corowa, but the rest is done. Maybe a little darker than I wanted but not unhappy at all. May put some LED strip on the top shelf as an uplight at some stage too. The tall lower LH corner shelves will get some suitable 70's decor on them too when I find something suitable. How to turn a plain wall into "a work of art" The "shadow box" pulls any modern look back into the 70s, well done !!!

Thanks, that's what I was going for. 😊 Pretty happy with the result. A bit of decoration, some storage boxes, old books and maybe a bit of Copper Art woukd finish it off. 😁
I've been searching ebay and Gumtree for appropriate pieces but geez, genuine 70's art and small statues are getting pricey! 😩

Just a quick update - been working on it every day and am close to getting it where I need it for Corowa. Recent works include new gas reg, adjusting brakes, checking lights and getting it ready for rego- which is booked in for next Wednesday. Have new VIN for it, all reflectors fitted and lights checked. Interior is almost ok with just some flyscreens to sort. Brake controller fitted to Hilix and shakedown run tomorrow. After that, fit brake controller to the 101, service it, grease the prop shafts and I'm ready for a holiday. 10 days of kicking back by the mighty Murray - can't wait.
1 week until we leave...
Not close to finished, but enough to go enjoy. 👍

As soon as you hit the street "are you going to paint it" After the important vanity items like botox, fillers, tummy tuck & butt lift/ implants, i can not imagine snoops having the spare cash for paint. "Patina and proudly showing off 40+ years of life... is sooo in right now"

As soon as you hit the street "are you going to paint it" Yes, that's started already. Had some friends around this morning 'are you going to paint it' was one of the first things they asked. 😁 Probably should make up a board for it to display while on holiday including future works. 👍

Took it for a run today - brakes are amazing but found one hot on my return so just need to back that off a bit. Apart from that, it towed very well and nothing much moved inside - apart from the TV... My first attempt at a securing measure failed and when I got home it was on the floor... Amazingly it still works!
Onto what feels like the home stretch now. It's all tidied up, with just a few items to attend to and ready to be packed during the week - after Wednesday which is Rego day. Just need one more shakedown run to ensure the brkaes and bearings are all good and settled before then.
Then I just have to service the 101, fit the brake controller to that and I'm ready.
Leaving Sunday week so 8 sleeps to go. I'm never doing something like again to a deadline - it's nearly killed me. Still a 100 things to do, but at least I can do that while enjoying it on the weekends and not worrying about a deadline.

Looking good mate. I was just looking at the bling photo the other night when i logged in for a few minutes wondering if i should warn you about loosing "things" (TV) off the new shelves in transit, but i thought nahh you have towed lots of vans lots of places surely you would put the TV on the floor or pack it away in a cupboard before driving anywhere. Sorry mate my bad. Good thing it still works though, as for deadlines i know what you mean. i have 6 weeks from last Thursday to get the doug usable and then Lisa casually reminds me that we are off to SA in the Viscount 10 weeks later and she wants people wowing all over it. hmmmm i could be asking for more than just a bit of help mate. Enjoy your holiday it will be well deserved looking forward to some pics of it out and about. Your pile of bits and pieces is getting bigger up here too
