OK weather is looking better nowdays, even getting into high teens this weekend! So ill be buying the lyno and doing the install, finally making some inroads here.
Question: theres plenty of contradictory info out there about the use of adhesives. Some say to glue down the lyno, others say to glue the edges only, others say not to use glue at all.
What are the thoughts on this? So far I am leaning towards no glue, at the very least glue around edges but this depends on final fit.

We are using vinyl tiles from the shed, they are adhesive backed but easily retreviable/ replaceable if one is damaged. We are going to screw/glue 6mm marine ply down first to level & strengthen the floor.

Had a good day installing the floor. Was quite a bit of work involved, but my father helped which made all the difference. So after removing the template from the van, i placed it on the lyno (had to use the dining room floor) and traced out the pattern, allowing extra few mils in case of miss calculation. I have yet to do the edging and I am still in two minds about using adhesive. Pics show the process: Before stencil and lyno on floor to be traced: Pencil marks outlining the stencil: End result - makes all the difference!

You appear to have a great surface ,with so many corners, plus edging, I doubt it would move. Fantastic look, well done.

Awesome looking job. Van looks fantastic. The choice of vinyl seems to make the van look bigger too. Nice clean lines. This helps to inspire others in the middle of a reno like myself.

Thanks, yes we just took our time, making sure the template sat square with the pattern. When installing, we tackled the harder corner first (kitchen area), then it was easy to lay the rest under the bunk. I think it took around 4 hours all up. This is the first time I installed lino anywhere, let along in a cramped space like a caravan. So if I can do it, anyone can! Good luck with your build.

Did a lot of work this weekend, im actually aching! Making great progress, its amazing what good weather and laying the floor does. So placed the front dinning chairs, all thats left to do is bed. Final look so far... ignore the cushions as these will be replaced. Framing it up, using original face. Now that the floors are in, I think the material is too soft. I am not confident these will last long, they get damaged easily if you drop something sharp so I suppose thats the downside to roll out vinyl flooring.

Yeah, judging by the angle of the step brackets on mine - and the lack of the step, my guess is that it was left down when leaving camp and is now rusting away quietly in a ditch somewhere.

Funny... luckily I was only reversing the van out of the way, not actually going anywhere (not registered), but yes good point not to forget that damn step!

It's funny how opinions vary. I've never liked the look of a disco .... but the range rover classic and series look I like Where the picture of the two door towing it seeya, Shane L.

Shane - will be a few years yet before the two door can do anything, let alone tow. Cant wait to get started on it, the next project once caravan is done.

with the back of the disco sitting down a bit (the nose is up a bit too ?) ... why dont' you just get some lightweight weight distribution bars and fit? .... Infact, just drive around the block a few times and let the Boge Leveler re-level the car (that's all I'll do with my old Range Rover).

Yes the back sags a bit. The disco doesn't have the leveler like the rangie, hence I think ill get stiffer springs eventually. Looking towards towing it with my newly acquired 1977 rrc 2 door

Looking towards towing it with my newly acquired 1977 rrc 2 door That's strange... Does it have air suspension? How do you stop them dragging there arse up the road like a dog with worms if you load them heavily given there is no leveling at the back (land rover seems to run very soft springs). seeya Shane L.
