If you had an Annex Slab next to your van then it would be close, you may find that the Annex has shrunk as well. An Annex 300mm longer may be too long, If when repairing the Walls you add 150mm to the 3 sides the it may fit.

at annexe looks a later model to me,vans of your era had a scalloped edge, not a straight one as here. Looks like an 80s annexe to me,possibly made by Tebbs in Melbourne. I have also never seen an annexe shrink that much! Cheers hughdeani

Just further to my video with j-rail reseal, i have just completed the top left with the annexe rail and that took my from 9am to 5pm today, without breaks. So its a substantial job but in my mind i dont have to touch again. Hate to be doing this job again in 10years if it was mastic :-O

The caravan park is very good, clean and the people there are both retired travellers or families. The only issue I have is that they cram a lot of caravans in together, so space wise I wasnt really happy with.

I'll only ever go to a caravan park if I need to wash clothes after being out for 4 or 5 nights free camping. Even then, I'll ring ahead to make sure they are not busy and that there is a quiet place we can stay at - unpowered as well, I've never needed a powered site.

I used to to the same during out 2 years living in a motorhome. As soon as I get the portable solar panels I will look for sites without power. Having said that, in Tasmania we have to drive a bit further of Hobart to find legal camping sites specially now with a dog.

Snoops - yes we are planning on doing free camping, just not set up as yet, plus given its our second outing in the van we have loads to learn, so we figured we start with powered site then progress onto free camping when we are set up.

Been a while since I posted... question for you, I am wanting to put the battery on the drawbar inside an alloy storage/tool box. What have people done with this setup? How did you mount the tool box and wiring (pics please Cheers,

Hi all, been a while since I last posted. I finally had the chance to get the wardrobe/pantry build done today, thanks to Gitano for the help. Here is what we did, basically kept half of the wardrobe and the other half built the pantry.
Enjoy

Well, we finally got the dinette cushions back (go figure just when we are thinking of selling the van!). Anyway, looks very scmick IMO, perfectly maching the era. The funky cloth pattern is no longer available, we where extremely lucky to get the last threads.

We loved that fabric, but sadly no longer produced. Reminds me of Austin Powers also

We loved that fabric, but sadly no longer produced. Reminds me of Austin Powers also Maybe Captain Goodvibes wandering around a field, in between the surf break peaking? Be sure to check out the Peter Sellars classic "The Party" you will see what many decades later inspired much of the Austin Powers decore. ( Tis a bit like saying "Wow your ply teardrop camper looks like a Jayco J-Pod!" haha)

All the best with the sale - hope you find a good home for it. Make sure whoever buys it pops in here to let us know how they are getting on.

So we had a lovely family come yesterday and look at the van, and they wanted it, so its sold. The family has a 9yo son also, so we are glad that its going to a good home to be used by a young family.
They are picking it up during the week if all goes to plan. We had a few more inquiries on it too, so there is interest in these old vans that have been renovated. Wife was almost in tears when the deal was struck, and I must admit too that I am sad to see her go.
