The gas chamber looks good, as I said to you the only what it is needed is the sticker with the "No naked flames, mobile phone off" Also need a small bucket for the paper and wipers.

I turn my back for five minutes & two new videos appear !!!!!!!!
Top work again, & a sensible approach to the bathroom, I like it a lot.
The space is also large enough have a sponge bath in a dish if need be. I have been going to hang a privacy curtain for 18 months not sure what the "hangup" is??

In your case Mustang I recon you havent found a blingy enough curtain - so get back 'on track', 'splash out' on some curtains!

We just enjoyed camping for 3 days down Dover way, its our getaway spot when we dont want to drive too far. Anyway, as we get to use it more we continue to tweak the van (sound familiar?). This time I am building a small side table next to the bed so we can put small items like mobiles to charge. I built it using 30x18 pine with left over marine ply 4mm for top and side. As it buts against the wardrobe it was a fairly simple build. I am also using one of the original cupboard doors to make it look factory.

Right, so it didnt happen without photos, so here are a couple. So I just used left over timber including the trusty 4mm marine ply for the side/top. I think it turned out half decent... If you're wondering why the design, i made it shorter than the wardrobe to have more room for feet to get into the corner when making the bed/opening window/etc. Height is just under matress level so that its easy to reach over without knocking your hand into it.

Well we are back from a great holiday up the east coast of Tassie in the Viscount. I decided, given the fact that we are always travelling up and down long hills, to get a set of electric brakes. So what brands do you recommend for the viscount with 14" rims?

Hi mate, glad to hear from you. Sounds like your getting out and about in the Viscount which is great. 👍. I’d spend the extra dollars and use Alko to be honest although there are Cheap knockoffs of these too. I’d be guessing your axles are the same as mine which will mean they will require modification to mount new brakes. I did a write up of this - ditzygypsy.proboards.com/post/40807How are the Land Rovers coming along? Haven’t seen a post on the Series on AULRO for a while. 😉

So what brands do you recommend for the viscount with 14" rims? When you cable up, use a decent thickness cable & run in "parallel" not series. Our Viscount became very effective when we replace the original series old cable.

Although the current draw isn’t huge (around 3 amps per magnet), the voltage at lower braking levels is low too, so in series this halves the voltage to each magnet (on a single axle system or quarters it on dual axle). In parallel gives the full voltage the controller is supplying, the decent cable prevents bad voltage drop issues which are compounded with these lower voltages.

I have a recollection that wires to both sides should also be identical lengths

I have a recollection that wires to both sides should also be identical lengths Jim This is a very important point. They must be identical in lengths otherwise one will brake earlier than the other.

bogwot - I agree, they are best to be equal length and same gauge, however the Caravan factories do not seem to agree or see the need.

Hi all, been a long time since I posted. Just wanted to cap off this thread by saying that after years of faithful service, joy and rewards it brought to the family, the Ambassador has now found a new home. She will be looked after on a property, fully covered and with a deck to live out her life in comfort. This forum has been a great source of support and knowledge during the years and its sad not to have a classic caravan.
However, the reason we sold her is to change up the type of traveling we want to do, so now we have a VW T3 Trakka campervan that will take us to where we need to go.
Stay safe all!
Cheers,
Carlos
