Whist there are many solutions to this problem (which wouldnt be a problem if we bought full blockout material), aesthetics has also got to be a priority factor as SWMBO wont be happy if it looks slapped up.

gitano has a great idea recycle and save power more so will help keep some of body heat in when free camping .I think I will use his idea easy to store and set up properly should be easy to set up. for looks on the outside glue some curtain material to outside face and close your curtains

Ended up sewing some block out material to the curtains, but only on the top. This material clings like static so i was happy that the block out material more or less flowed with the curtain. So this was a good fix in the end.

Hi all - been extremely busy of late, havent even started on the bathroom! I did however get myself another project, a Land Rover Series 2a... but unfortunately I had to let the Range Rover Classic project go. Of course, as always, ill post progress vids on my channel if you are a LR nutter. I do intend to get on with the bathroom mod, so ill keep progress updates coming Cheers,

I looked up what you got not being very aware of land-rover models and found a very tough model. now has it got a four six or eight. petrol or diesel. It will look good towing the viscount.

Its pretty much original, so the 2.25ltr petrol. Will be an interesting build, or not...

Its a standard factory 2.25ltr petrol. Some had conversions to the holden 6cyl, whilst others came with the Rover v8 called "Stage 1"

Hiya Mustang - been caught up with the new project, kinda got all into it as i need to strip it to the chassis (the Land Rover Series 2a). SWMBO keeps reminding me about getting the bathroom done, which i need to do soon. Then on top of that got house and car work to do, so currently full on!! But its great to see loads of threads popping up to, makes for good reading .

Seems to all happen at once! Got this project, the caravan bathroom, the disco head gasket (putting head on tomorrow) and soon need to replace the rad on the daily as its leaking. Also house stiff not getting done, so its all piling up at the moment.

Looks great, because we are in tropical Tasmania, you can cut some of the insulation material that you have left an put it between the curtain and the window. That will stop the day light, bring privacy and stop the cold coming in during the night. Just a though and an excuse to not do any more sawing. When i first got mine (winter) i was going to buy some cheap space blankets & fit velcro for a quick position and remove, roll and store... i soon discovered that space blanket stuff was now expensive and mostly used for car windscreens. Re space blanket material, often the speed shops have irregular size windscreen protectors very cheap, may be worth asking a store if they have any throw out stock.

What would be a speed shop? like Rocket1 industries or something online & interstate?
