Been busy on the small tidy ups, spent 4 hrs sorting the mechanical brakes, the pad adjustment screw was so far out it had us beat for a while, pulled every thing down for a look, when we finally got the adjustment sorted the front pads came up so far I had to back the cable a long way off, performance should be vastly improved. Spare wheel holder:looks a little off center but the weight actually sits on the drawbar. Stay tuned for a special toolbox.

With cheap cnc routing & many with .dwg file creation skills, there is no excuse for some curvy toolbox goodness. "Curved is the word"

Crikey, mustang, you've done a heck of a job on this van! That port-hole window is certainly unique, and really looks the goods. Congratulations on another top-shelf restoration of a caravan. Looks like your Viscount wasn't just a fluke, hey?!! cheers, Al.

I have been consulting with a fiberglass outfit locally about getting a nice curvy box for the front of the Kennedy.
They seemed very enthusiastic about creating a special design, here is the quote: QUOTE
Custom Storage Box
Description Quantity Unit Price GST Amount AUD
Construction foam 12mm 60D 1.00 129.60 10% 129.60
Resin 2080 LSE 10kg 1.00 90.00 10% 90.00
Jotun hardtop ultra white 4L 0.50 165.00 10% 82.50
Chopped strand mat 225g by the meter 5.00 33.00
Peel ply 3.00 5.00 10% 15.00
Repair 12.00 66.00 10% 792.00

TOTAL AUD 1,142.10
OOooohhhhh I don't go that far on holidays.

Only charging 12 hours to design and build that is great value! "quality remains long after the cost is forgotten"

Only charging 12 hours to design and build that is great value! "quality remains long after the cost is forgotten" Thanks for the lead Bob. Hey Ate, the Kennedy didn't come cheap enough to bust $1100 on a tool box. ButWe now have another, stay tuned its being worked on & hopefully accepted by the masses

Tiz only money Brent! Seriously though anything bespoke will be pricey, in 1992 my bro in law spent $1200 on a very nice stainless steel toilet brush. I would have used the spend power of that (in the day) to eat for six months! In todays world though $1100 is two nights out average spend for young working YOLO folks, on the town, in the big cities... sigh (Oh to be 40 years old again haha!) Edit NOTE:Back in 1988-89 my office staff were charged at $58per hour and $60PH by 1990, so that labour rate is good for customers, bad for Australian values, all these years later.

What is wrong with the way it looks now? I think it looks good.
What did they do with the gear they needed in its day?

What is wrong with the way it looks now? I think it looks good. What did they do with the gear they needed in its day? Storage inside is fussy, the areas are mostly under the seats & bed. When we set up I like the wheel ramp, pegs, ropes, hammer, stabilizer pads, a nip of rum, etc to be handy. This gear could be stored in the car?? but I like tool boxes

The main issue is also possible interior damage with those pesky set up items, plus wet weather bump in/ out mud/ wetfest dramas. Maybe a stlylish compromise? "28 Ltr American Oak Port/Rum/Bourbon Spirit Barrel Hand Crafted AU $345.00"

The only storage I had in my first caravan was either inside or in the car boot. Clearly 'Mustang' your spoilt with the trappings of modern... hence the desire to ruin a perfectly loverly looking caravan.. with a box

Another accessory:
SHMBO suggested the Kenny curtains need brightening up , so after a quote it was cheaper to buy a sewing machine $375.00 down to $150.00 due to some light rust on the metal plate. It rubbed off with a little xtra fine steel wool. We bought a meter of material to test, it was ok went back for more ...all gone .

My fave thing, when i revamped my CBD office in 1989, was my company name & logo frosted onto a already textured partition glass. Builder mate had dude that did it via sandblast (sodablast?) & masking.

I used to engrave glass by hand, (see image....to follow...PB is having a patsy again) but all the diamond engraving burr's etc are long gone, I do the odd dog tag, the Kennedy items are computer blasted, by a lady in Redcliffe Qld.
