I have done a short cut, for the work involved I could not resist to get this side table for $80.00. IMO if I have to pay or the materials i would not save much money (if any) Also I attaching a photo this the strip in the other side. I have never done this kind of work before so I am pleased with the results. I have to think where I will paint a narrow strip on the top of this to brake the white. and here is how it was:

If you are thinking in using acrylics as a base paint and a strong color for the strip then I suggest you to use signwritters paint that it is UV resistant. I used Viponds paint, they are in Victoria and 1 lt cost $35.00. It works very well on top of Solargard. The white that I have selected from Solargard is Manhattan Snow gloss. It is not harsh like a pure white. HERE is the link.

My mates a spray painter and runs his own buisness. he has gallons of white paint kicking around - I'll just have to get the orange mixed up.

We have good weather today so I played a bit with the lines on the sides of the van. I like the outcome. The top line instead of being on the top of the window I brought it one panel down and at the bottom of the wide line I just painted one thin line only.

That looks fantastic mate! I hope mine come up half as well as that. Top effort. I like the thin line at the bottom - looks better than having one big block there - I may do something similar on mine. Is that the power inlet on the side?

Cool, I wa going to say it would be a strange spot for an inlet. My outlet is high up on the back corner - yours is easier to get to.

I just check the weight on the ball and is 90 kg which it is the maximum allowed on the car specs so any new load have to be distributed to keep that weight as is. The only what we need to load are provisions for the pantry and few clothes so it will be not a big deal. Water in 20 lts cans can be in the car boot or distributed even near the centre of the van. The ball weight was my biggest worry because we do not like to sell the Magna which it is in a very good condition.

Thanks mustang, I just bought a new 150kg/1500 kg towbar which comply with Mitsubishi specs as long as a WDH it is used. That will allow me to have the spare wheel and 4kg gas bottle on the draw bar and easy 10% of the caravan weight on the ball. I was paranoid with the present set up even if Mitsubishi said a minimum of 6% of the trailer weight on the bar it is ok.

Got a Fullriver 120 amps battery for the van and now planning to get a Victron battery monitor BMV700 to protect the $389 battery Money goes very quick on a 12 volts DC system In the future I am planning to get a CTEK D250S DUAL DC TO DC BATTERY SMART CHARGER 12 VOLT SOLAR CONTROLLER so it will charge the battery on the van by tow DC sources, the alternator in the car when towing or the solar panels. I am impressed with the versatility of this battery charge Short video HERE about it I can see that to have a good solar system backed with a good protection $1000 will go easy. I have to make it easy to remove in case that one day I upgrade the van for one with toilet inside.
