Anyway Im off to Emerald for Fathers Day(goin out for lunch ;D ;D ) hope all you fathers have a great day as well!! Cheers Andy ;D

Hi all
My wife has wanted to do or go to a "Xmas in July" dinner/event for years, so we originally had planed on going away to Crows Nest NP on this weekend, but while doing some researching(spying sssh) on the Vintage Caravan forum - trip section I spotted this trip and it sounded like fun so I show it to the Minister of Sport & Recreation and a directive came back........
We're going !
So we have put our hands up to join them, if you think you might like to join us please go to
vintagecaravans.proboards.com/post/115610/thread
I think that if your a member on here - your a member on there forum, you just need to sign in and your away.
Cheers Lawrence
PS I'll make sure to take some disinfectant so none of those vintage caravan bugs get on my classic ha ha ha

Yep sounds good, But I'll have to wait and see how many little repair jobs raise their ugly heads after our trip to Cotton Tree lol. My Minister for 'Outdoorsy stuff & Weather' (cold weather that is) just looked at me and said "Canungra in July!! Are you mad? " Not entirely sure what that means but I guess I could be there on my own lol lol. Cheers, Des

Our introduction was a minus 2 on Friday morning, ice on the stairs under a vinyl awning. We got up at 4am & started the gas heater, just left it going while under the doona, she said "you want me to go to Canungra, in "Vincent", in Juy

Last winter we camped on the river at Pratten, Qld, near Warwick, -8 few mornings. Back then no Genie or gas heating, come on ladies it's all part of camping. We would love to come but having vehicle issues at the moment, wait and see.

Update
This is the latest info from the Vintage forum, if any member wish to go along and wish to go to the pub for the Xmas dinner please follow the instructions in the below post.
Hi all
A few additions minus a few going to Stockton (have fun Boblor & Steve) so that makes our numbers up to 19 vans including 4 kids.
If anyone else wants to come , just let me know up until about 11-12 July.
We'll get to Canungra Friday morning with Overland so Rob will throw some wood on back of ute & light a fire. Not the ute silly! Hopefully we can get a nice warm fire close to everyone's vans without risk to bond woods! Rob will bring 12volt chainsaw in case we need to scavenge for extra wood. One year we got good flood wood out of the creek bank.
Yep so sounds as though we will do our own thing dinner wise on Friday night but I'm betting on it being near the fire. Rob n I plan on taking a small roast & camp oven. smiles

Yes, I will have plenty of pics when I get home, so far have met a great bunch of people, having problems trying to remember all their names. The group had a lovely fire going last night and loads of laughs, bloody cold this morning - ice everywhere. Will do a trip report when Im back in the office.

WOW
What a top weekend many thanks to "smiles" from the VV forum for setting this up, the wife and I will definitely be going again next year. We had a wonderful weekend, wish I could remember everyone name and we have a few trips already lined up in the coming months but hope to go away with the group again somewhere down the track. I could easily write a 3 page trip report but I cannot do justice in words with how much fun we had, haven't laughed so much in years. Thanks to all the others who's name's escape me for making this a weekend to remember - Thank you.
Petra & Lawrence - Ok time for a few more pic's - seeing as B & J have cover all the vans I will put a few others of interesting and funny things that happened..
Happy Hour - Friday
The community dinner table...yumm
Did we mention it was cold on Saturday morning..... My foot steps frozen in time..
Typical Mitsubishi - had a sook on a cold morning and had a flat battery, but never fear a Ford Zephyr came to the rescue..
How's this for an awning on a Teardrop camper, sweet

A few more...
This was my wife's pick for nicest van.
OK some photo's from dinner
Well as the night was drawing to a close I asked some of the group what sort of van they prefer, if they like vintage then make 2 "V"s with your fingers, but if Classic's rule then make two "C"s with your fingers, and photo's don't lie....Classic's rule ....
