G'day Gang, Atog, The launch day has yet to be determined, I've got a heck of a lot to organize before we can hit the road, the usual things ....getting the pension organized, sorting out what remains of my Super, and deciding what the young bloke will pay while we are away. Kiwicarl, I think by the time we do get mobile it may be to late in the year to head North, So it looks like we may head East across that boring sand patch and drop in on a few of the C.Cers on the other side of the Country, then slowly head North up the East Coast, stopping where-ever we please and moving on when we have had a good look around. The Cheese & spice wants to poke around Tassie for a while so that another detour on the big round the block hop. Yep I definitely will have a lap top with us, so there will be plenty of Pic's to make you wish you were my age..........don't worry Guys, it will catch up with you one day,......... Hee Hee ;D ;D ;D Gary, some of the trim was done by myself (back rests) other covering like the seat covers were done by our Company, who Sponsored the rebuild to a certain extent, the latest additions, the bed covers were done by our Company's cleaning lady, who made a great job of them and also has a rather expensive hourly rate, I didn't mind this as she did a great job and the Cheese & spice is really pleased with the result, that's what matters. So all I have to do now is more or less fill in time for another few weeks until the big date, then "look-out Aussie" here we come. Cheers all kiwijim ;D

G'day All, Waiting for the Roses & Spice to clean the floor of the Thomson turned out to be like waiting for the Beer truck to arrive in Mekathara. N.W. W.A. So with a tinnie in hand and a good supply of back-up in the wardrobe I decided to tackle the job myself, With the expensive floor scrubber ( $10.00 from the Sunday Markets) in one hand and the refreshments close by I grabbed the Spray & Wipe, then the tin of Ajax power, Half a container of each on the floor and I was away........ One hour and a few refreshments later, plus half a bottle of tile polish, heres the result.......... Two more Tinnies and I was finished....... Now if I could find some Hub-Caps I could give them a polish. cheers All, kiwijim

G'day Guys, Here it is Sunday morning, out of bed nice and early, ready for the Sunday Markets...... Poke head out the door........"DAM" it's going to rain again Should I wake the Sugar & Spice (who wanted to go) and listen to it bleat all day about.... waking me early on a wet Sunday morning, "NAW"......... think I will just creep out to the THOMSON and slide up and down on that floor, then check that the "SCRUBBER" is still in working order.....she gets pretty warm after a couple of hours hard pushing, hee hee. You're right ATOG, that "SCRUBBER" was rather expensive, but not bad for $10.00 when the owner wanted $20.00...... "The kiwi strikes again" ;D ;D One thing about the Markets, kiwicarl......I have found that if there is anything you want.......be patent and regular, sooner or later you will find what you are looking for..........then haggle for a good price....."HELL" I enjoy that part. cheers all. ;D ;D

Hey there Kiwicarl, Thanks for the clips, I reckon I will print a couple of them off and stick them on the back of the THOMSON. Well just as I was about to do a bolt for the van, who should stick it's head out of the bedroom and state......... "WE'RE GOING TO THE MARKETS" O.K. so it didn't rain after all, "FLAMIN" cold though, around the 2-3 deg by the feel of it, Anyway into the Patrol.... did the few clicks to the markets, got there just as the heater started to earn it's pay, then it was nose to the ground ......looking for that Good buy, Took all of ten minutes to find it but there it was ......... a nice clean, near new lookin Generator, hardly used, going by the seller, only want $180.00 for it.......... In comes the kiwi.......off he went with Gennie, SOLD ....$165.00 "The kiwi strikes again" Got it home and plugged it into the THOMSON......... turned on all lights, the T.V. the C.D. player, the fan, and the battery charger.......all going at once, not a problem for the gennie...............one happy kiwijim ;D ;D ;D

Gidday Jim, Geez mate you had alot more luck than me I went to the markets in Karrinyup this morning and there was bugger all to see, about half the number of stalls as previous weeks and just generally crap merchandise to boot. And yes it was blimmin' cold too aye, I didn't notice till I stopped for diesel on the way to the markets that it was a little cold to be wearing shorts (probably why I didn't stay too long) Mate a good pick up that generator for sure, that will come in handy when your camped on the side of the road in a truck bay in the middle of nowhere buddy (bit loud if ya got neighbours tho') and ya definitely cant complain about the price either. (that bloody kiwi strikes again). Glad you liked the stickers mate was just surfin' around and thought might give ya a chuckle ;D Carl

kiwijim I nearly died when I saw you attacking that poor innocent floor with that ferocious floor polisher... For some reason I thought you had carpet on the floor. That sure was a good purchase. ..Me mum use to have one.. I think it is now gone... The floor came up a treat Nice job on the drawers. Fitting new ones to the exisiting is not an easy thing to do bobt

G'day there Bobt, Those flamin draws took me weeks to make, it's a wonder you didn't hear the rumbling of frustration from your place, the biggest problem I had was getting the right angle on the face of the draws, the top of the draws was off-set out-wards by a additional 37.5mm more than the base, I think I must have removed the draws a dozen times and adjusted the slides before the face came in-line with the rest of the bed base. All done now.......some-where for the Cheese & Spice to stow her Working Boots......... Hee Hee. ;D ;D ;D Ripped out the Video player yesterday, I had fitted a new portable T.V. and the darn thing won't pick up the video signal, that makes more room, those tapes weighed a ton and took up a hell of a lot of space. The C.D. / D.V.D. player still works fine....... thats enough noise to keep the "OLE Cheese" happy. ;D ;D Hey kiwicarl, You should do a couple of extra clicks and visit the Belmont markets, that's where I found the generator yesterday, ;D ;D the place was almost full with sellers, and the Maddington markets were about half full. I have found that the best bargains to be had, usually appear just before Xmas, when people flog off last years presents so they can buy some new ones. Cheers, kiwijim........

G'day there kiwicarl, "JEZ" mate, I am always up in the wee hours, best time to crank up this old Idiot Box, seems to go a bit faster when the rest of the population is asleep. ;D ;D ;D We did venture up to the Wanneroo markets once but didn't find any bargains at all, they must be a tight mob on the North Side Good idea catching an eye-ball at the markets Carl, we are usually there around 9.00am - 10.00am and by that time of the morning the tongue is hanging out for a coffee recharge. I shall P.M. you with some I.D. in the mean time ...... here is a map of the Belmont Markets location.......... Cheers and Beers kiwijim

Gidday Jim, Mate would like to catch up and have a coffee for sure and get a look at the markets as well. Problem might be I have a 50th b/day party to go to on sat night so may be a little under the weather after partaking in a couple o' shandies too many, but will certainly have a go at getting up in time. The Wanneroo markets up here used to be good a couple of years ago, but yes they might be tight as a snappers back side too hahahaha ;D ;D Waiting for your PM and will reply with same. Carl

Hey Guys, Having a bit of time on my hands I wandered around the rear of the THOMSON today, took a look at the "EL CHEAP'O" tail lights I bought from a large .......ER........Aussie wide Variety Store about a year ago and found that the lenses had lost most of their color (WEST AUSSIE SUN) ] So.....off they came and were replaced with a couple of new Light truck Combo's complete with reversing lights....all wired up and working, Where did I acquire these , He He He.........one may well ask. kiwijim ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Hi Kiwijim I reckon the sun did you a favour fading the other ones out. The new ones are certainly much better. Reversing lights now there are days nights when I would really really like some of those on the back of mine...

G'day Bobt, The main reason I fitted the lights with reversing lights working is because we live on a four lane street, The only way I can get the THOMSON into the drive-way is to pull past our entrance and stop in the center lane before reversing into the driveway, Even with hazard lights flashing its amazing how often some clown will pull up right behind the caravan, then I have to wait while he decides it might be a good idea to go around me, Hopefully with the reversing lights going, the next clown might realize which way I want to go. cheers kiwijim

G'day Gang, Well I've done it again.........stuck some more onto the THOMSON, I once again climbed out of bed early, grabbed the local Free-to-advertise Paper and went hunting for an Air Con for the THOMSON, I found three for sale.... L G's $ 100.00ea only 8 Months old, Took one look and a try-out.......then bought the lot, They were as advertised, like brand new, the outside noise level was only 56db and inside it was only a whisper, the extra bonus was that they only weigh 35kg, easy for the Cheese & Strife to lift and install. First I had to make a collapsible hanging frame to sit the Air Con on... this frame is made of two pieces (made from Tent Poles) the base of the frame fits into the holes, the top of the frame (under the Air Con) fits into this channel Next I cut 3/16 perspex to fit into the window frame, The Perspex in place, held in by a aluminum angle riveted to the Air Con case. The frame in place hooked over the window frame The Air Con in place and running, at 17deg, these Air Cons won't start under 16deg. Still plenty of light around the Air Con.

Hey kiwijim, now let me get this straight!??...you bought THREE air conditioners, each one for $100, and each one about 8 months old?? If that's the case, then you win the Bargain Hunters Award for the month of September! ;D ;D I can see that you've fitted one to the side window. Does that mean the other two get fitted to the front and back windows?? Sorta like turning the Thomson into a deep freeze storage container. No way will the beer ever get cold now mate! ;D ;D I'm guessing that when you go for the big trip around the block, you'll be staying at all the power stations along the way?? Congratulations on bagging such a great BARGAIN!! cheers, Al.

Hey Kiwijim congrats on the purchase. Now as millard1399 says one each end and one in the middle... "Deeeep Freeze" inside the van.. ;D ;D or is that one spare and one for the garage??? Tis amazing how flexible a couple of tent poles can be... Say how wide is that van now? ;D ;D bobt psst you will not need that in tassie over summer
