Hi folks Recently joined as we have jumped in head first, purchased a 1977 Coronet 14ft pop top van. I purchased the van ( Matt) thinking it would be a quick fix and off we would be camping with our 2 lovely children. Sadly the wife has to come along, as long as there is room for the dog, she will be right! Thankfully my lovely neighbour ( came and pocked it a little) finding various places where water has damaged the internal frame. This includes the 4 corners ( bendy bits) and various wall panels. So I've put the camping on hold for at least a few weeks!!!!! I hear you giggle, so did we. This is our first and probably last project, but we need some help already!!! Where to start........?.... Anyone out there ( that may have been here) that can give us some tips (don't say petrol and a match), and help us keep on track. Places to shop for bits/suppliers/ Any help would be very well received, we (I) also promise not to park next to your shinny van if and when we get this thing back on the road... HELLLLLLLLLP :-)

Hi dmproject, Welcome to our Classic Caravans forum. The forum fosters vans from 1970 to 1980, & we welcome all comers interested in Classics. You are welcome to start your own thread in the “Hall of Fame”, there you can post images from a third party such as Photobucket, Tinypic, Flickr etc. There are tutorials at the top of the General Section. Have a look here first linkThen here linkOur sister forum Vintage Vans (1970 & earlier) have many duel members looking in, so ask any info about your project. Cheers Brent (Forum Mod)

gidday dmproject
Welcome aboard. If this is your first ever venture into caravanning I would suggest you get yours road worthy, safe to use on the bitumen. Go out and spend a couple of weekends in it with the dog before you start doing any serious work inside it. If it looks like it is going to leak either carry a tarp, use lots of silicon.
Once you have spent some time in it you will either like it or hate it. If you like it you will not have any trouble getting in a fixing it up.
