Well, I never knew such a devise existed, an interesting website. Yes in another life I used then almost daily in the mid-late 90's, still got my Crimper's and a fair supply of bootlace-ferrule. Rattles

I never thought about equal length wires but makes sense so will be done I will also use large diameter wire .The earth wires will be to plug the same as the lights nothing relies on a chassis or body for a earth that way any faults should be easier to find. I have a large crimping tool that has a hexagonal crimp pattern but soldering taping and heat shrink should work well. I got the bench-top sink and tap in today and found out my inverter is too big for cupboard I had hoped to put it so a little bit of thought I will find somewhere safe for it I have a few ideas it also has a earth spike to connect an earth wire. www.flickr.com/photos/154612785@N05/shares/45Q97R just looked it up mine is a Coax Crimping Tool

The other option with the electric brakes wiring is to run the cable from the tow plug to the centre of the axle, and then split the cable to run to each wheel from that centre point. That's the way I did it on a 17ft4" 1992 Windsor van I once owned. See the photo and description in the thread about that van, here.I now have the later 12-pin socket connector fitted to my towcar, so if I was to ever rewire another van, I would run the brake wiring into the appropriate terminal in a 12-pin plug, rather than have a separate anderson plug set-up like I've shown in the photo. I used the "6mm auto cable" for the wiring, where the actual copper wire is 4mm diameter (the plastic sheathing makes up the other 2mm to give 6mm total - a silly way of describing cable sizes, if you ask me ). The five larger terminals in the 12-pin plug only just allow the 4mm wire to fit in, so there's not much leeway for the terminal screw to be screwed down into the wire itself. cheers, Al.

This is all excellent information and will be good if it can be all put together and into a tech thread for all to see. I also spoke with the technical side of the rms yesterday and found out my van most likely has a total allowable mass of 2000kg's just have to look up the rms site (VSB) No.1 Building Small Trailers to confirm will keep you posted at least I know I will be able to carry more than water and some cloths and minimal food with out going over weight.

Cheap roll seemed like a bargain but no relation to useful copper to external diameter of product. The only plus i saw was it would be a cheap fuse and most probably stop working with minimal transmitted heat as to even show where on the casing it got hot. My mate ended up using that roll to re wire the hills clothes hoist!!!! funny sad.

didn't get a lot done this two days off yards had to be done and a few house repairs but I did get seat and bottom bunk enclosed with ply. Next Tuesday I am going to make my own lead from car to bottom of van just split open a length of 7 core replace white and blue wires with heavier gauge wire re-wrap and encase in heat shrink run it to a electrical box so all is water resistant adjust brakes and finish tail lights

With the frozen rain didn't get what I wanted to get done but did get a few things sorted for inside aluminum flat-bar across joins in ceiling ply two types of smoke detectors and looking for a place for the co2 detector. worked out battery is way too heavy to sit under van so inside somewhere it will be so that means a door on the outside for access unless I can place a sealed door inside I have a while to think that on though hope for sun next Tuesday and Wednesday so I can get the brakes adjusted and wired up 12 volt running lights tidied and finished and plumbing done I have gone for 1/2inch copper pipe as it will drop pressure down and let twelve volt pump work better no separate tap for for the pump. Forgot to mention next week Wednesday I only get a few hours on the van off to vivid. I am trying hard to at least get it registered by the end of the month.Will hopefully have photo's next week. I also got the wiring from box under van to car changed out the white for a 15amp wire and couldn't get a 15amp blue wire so I put two 10amp wires together hopefully in theory this will boost the 10amp to at least 13amp . have fun and stay warm but if you have to get frozen may it be for a good cause

Are you sacrificing resto time for vivid? i was all set to sign up a few years ago but since the stroke not able to do too much. Suffered a 6 hour NYE event a few years ago but it was a week of zzzz time to recover being nice & chasing vollies!

went to put brake cable and and set up brake wires but found out I had put baking plates on wrong side with the 8 and 9inch the handbrake cable was at bottom on the ten inch electric it is at top so a full day spent changing it around the I lost the small nut for the cable clamp so another week longer before I can get it registered not to worry here is some pic's of last week and a few bits I got done today. www.flickr.com/photos/154612785@N05/shares/0ct0i6 have fun

We now have a hand brake for the cables at the end to stop fraying I have put electrical Copper Lug Wiring Connector Terminal and will tie it to cable with a small cable tie. I have the brake wires started but it got to dark. I decided to redo wiring at rear it is all soldered and tucks away much neater now also the connectors I had used and thought they were copper turned out to be be steel as it started to rust so should be no problems now. www.flickr.com/photos/154612785@N05/shares/0773q7

Next Tuesday and Wednesday should see the brake wiring finished and plumbing done week after should be able to arrange appointments for weigh bridge ticket and blue slip. still will have lots to get done but will be usable. I do have to remember to bolt down bed.

didn't get a lot done but did get wiring for brakes done and straps for tanks made poring rain so not under van to fit them today first thing next Tuesday. The two water tanks will be joined together with an outlet to the pump and one to a tap so they can easily be emptied. The straps for the water tanks were $75.00 each couldn't find any for waste tank to make myself it cost me half a day and less than $35.00. I have been thinking about it and the battery is going to be transported in van as not charging or discharging means no hydrogen gas made then when camping it will be under van on wheels with a 175amp Anderson lead. not a lot done this week got the two fresh water tanks in 59L each they are a little short but offset in straps has them even started on the copper pipe was going great guns then the wind picked up and kept blowing out the torch out also have to pick up a couple of different parts and another two lengths of pipe Didn't get a chance to take photo's but next week it is hoped all water works are complete and should have time to take a few photo's. have fun and stay safe.

I'm just happy I only have one extremely small leak and I think that is the plastic fitting on inlet or I may need more plumbers tape on tap all the soldered and compress fittings are fine woooo hoooo
