Shower & wardrobe work looks fab Ted! The hot days are great to flatten out sheets of plastics like lino, before they get laid,or if the lino is floating just add weights for a week or so on the high spots. If glued down then what you see is always what you get as the thickness means it will always stay high & low as laid, plastics have a memory like metal so storage is very important. (In a perfect world always stored flat or worst case a large diameter roll), however many a squashed roll of lino has given a lot of fun and amusement/grief to those who wish to tame it. Thanks. The lino wasn't glued in & I left it for the last two months (& it has been hot) but the ripples were still there.

Murray Gi'day.
Thanks.... Yes it has been a mammoth task and I'm so close to finishing but I do want to try it out so over Chrissy im taking it away for a week. It wont have any cupboard doors or the GT stripes on the sides but everything else should be working ..... fingers crossed.
Ted

Ted that is a testament to how good the insulation is in your van, that not enough heat has laid it flat yet! But jolly annoying i bet.

Ted that is a testament to how good the insulation is in your van, that not enough heat has laid it flat yet! But jolly annoying i bet. The insulation is not that good 'cause the thermometer was pushed up to 45deg--- I've got one that pushes a small nail and a magnet holds it there so you can see how hot it got. You then push a button, this pushes the magnet away and shake the nail down inside the glass. Same works for the cold side. Ted

That is a great idea so you know what is happening when away Ted, naughty lino has no excuse apart from being cantankrous and following Murphy`s Law then!

I had a 2nd hand piece on my old L300 Mitsu van floor, had some wrinkles from being rolled, after 9 years & up to maybe 60c heat the lino had formed around the floors fore & aft ridges, but still had the roll wrinkles! ( just lying not stuck down.)

Well I'm nearly there. The weekend before last I finally ripped out the new lino as the wrinkles wouldn't flatten out (I'll glue in some lino tiles at a later date) I got the Shower recess finished with the ply on the outside, the gold trim around the edges and the door. After that I got some of the trim around the inside of the windows.

Thanks all ..... I think that the gold trim gives it that "Dated Look" Well this weekend completed not as much as I had hoped (Saturday I had to pick Mick up at 10.30am. He was a little under the weather from the party on Friday night). So from 6.30am till 10am I got the electrics nearly finished (I should say a "Sparkie") 047a 047b - I even put in a radio/tape player for the misses. Mick finally arrived 047c 047d I might get Kitchen finished tomorrow

Gold trim is that Classic Quality look Ted! #poshmuch Well Mine had gold trim around all the cupboards (10mm x 10mm ) which I put back on the old cupboards I re-clad. I had to get new stuff (could only get 12mm x 25mm) for around the shower and new kitchen area.
