Thanks mate, I guess that stays like this become more of a pleasure experience when the "base camp" is good and Leisure Ville Holiday Centre was very good, clean, family and pets friendly. I will be back there. Leisure Ville Holiday Centre

After living in Qld Wide Bay area for few years and put up with floods and extreme weather I am more happy here than in the main land. Today we have a very nice temperature and the last two days as well, meanwhile my relatives were living in NSW with temperatures over 35 degrees. Not for me any more

Not for me any more I must remember to remind you of that comment in June, July and August when you are freezing your ##lls off and running a fire 24/7 and we of the Great Northern Lands are sitting around in shorts and T's at a balmy 20-23deg thats why Australian RV's all have A/C standard with the exception of the apple isle where they have heaters standard

My daughter & granddaughter wanted to see the Kenilworth Cheese & Wine festival, so I joined them for two days before Easter. 6000 arrive in this tiny town for Easter, we camped at the Kenilworth Homestead apparently they had 500 bookings, glad I got out today!!!! Wish I had bothered to put the awning up, dews were heavy. Biskit loves caravanning. The Mary River (Yes the same one that flows through Maryborough) (Apologies for the crummy phone photos)

We have a great weather and time to explore more the Bay of Fires which it is one of my favorite spots. Swimcart Beach have to be one of the most beautify beaches in Australia and not to mention the camping spots on the edge of the beach. This view is looking south form the rocks at the LHS of the beach These views are from northeast side looking from the same spot as the one above The lagoon at the back of the rocks Scamander Beach, just couple hundred meters from base camp.

Camped at the Woomera Travellers Village & Caravan Park. Peering out the window as the never ending rain keeps falling. This came into the park. I am sure I have seen some pics of it on here. The owners are no where near it..

Thanks Brent for putting up the pics of Conway Beach. It was great weekend with a lot interest shown by the general public. Our hosts George and Debbie really went above and beyond with their hospitallity and generosity in bringing it altogether. Their caravan park is a credit to them,. If your travelling up this way call in for a day or two and see for yourself. You may end up here for a couple of weeks. George and Debbie are thinking of running this event bi-annually so keep this one in your diary for a future event.
Cheers Bob and Jacqui.

Laidley Chrome & Clutter FestivalWho would have expected little old Laidley to look like this on Saturday. Plenty of clutter, garage sales & memorabilia. Lots of hot cars, interesting cars, & plenty of people enjoying the great weather in SE Qld. A good roll up of vans, only $20 a double at the showgrounds. 3.5 degrees Sat am, really warmed up on Sun am 6 degrees, beaut days though. Open day Sunday morning had a good roll up of interested folks. Even Elvis made an appearance, in his special teardrop & truck. The Showground committee in appreciation of the VV patronage gave a couple of trophies, 1st place went to a beautifully restored Sunliner. 2nd went to yours truly. Thankyou VVs for your company.

Not sure if these pics will work...but my wife and I are finally on the road! First shake down trip being a 1000km journey to Noosa Heads for a wedding. We are still in Noosa and intend on driving down to Byron Bay on Tuesday for a few days. The van is towing really well and have only Had a few minor hiccups. A screw worked its way loose from the wall which holds the bench top track in place. Took me a while to figure out how to make the bench slide again (it was basically locked in the closed position. Next issue was me not tightening one of the connections for my tap. Ended up spraying water everywhere inside the kitchen cupboard. Lastly I left the hatch open after a roadside stop. The windup mechanism snapped almost in half. The hatch is securely closed but I can't wind it up atm. Job for home. Anyway, weather is amazing and we are loving life on the road! www.flickr.com/gp/153742934@N05/n3t054
