Great pictures Bob.. thanks for posting them up. That train ride is on my - ‘ Train Rides Before I Die’ - list.. Ok.. I’ll keep it easy and stay on the ‘T’ theme for now.. Yep, it’s a tree, but what tree is it -- and where is it? An extra heap of Brownie points if you can say what significant event is coming up soon - regarding this tree.. Jim

It's a coolibah tree called the Dig Tree and it's at Coopers Creek. Where the famous banjo Patterson song Waltzing Matilda was set. I cheated and googled the answer had a feeling from the clues it would be a coolibah tree.I haven't been to the east coast yet

Well.. 351..
You’re right about it being the Dig Tree, and it is on Cooper Creek..
But there’s no connection with Banjo Patterson or ‘Waltzing Matilda’
Patterson wrote ‘Waltzing Matilda’ at the Combo Waterhole on Dagworth Station – (near Winton Qld) – about 35 years after the dramas that happened at this tree.
But you’re on the right track (and in the right state)..
Back to Google..
Jim

351..
You still didn’t got it all correct, so your - ‘guess I still got it right though’ – isn’t right.
The Dig Tree is on Nappa Merri Station in Qld.
Doug has got the “What’s happening there” question correct.
On the 21st April it will be 150 years since Burke, Wills and King returned to find the base party had left that very morning.

A hint you say hmmmmmmm let me see, it's on the sunny side of the map to start with. It is a section of road where many of these items can be found The road has a gimmick name I'd say it will be abit hard for those who haven't been on this side of the border. Was going to post a couple more pix but photobucket is down for site maintenance maybe tomorrow.

Yep you got it ;D ;D ;D Kulin THE TIN HORSE HIGHWAY to be precise The farmers for a 50km? stretch have tried to out do each other with their crazy tin horse creations in their paddocks in recognition of the Famous Kulin bush races I would imagine. The next town north is Kondinin they have something similar in the paddocks in their area but with dogs in utes. Love this part of the country in spring, went out that way on Grandfinal long weekend a couple of years ago, so nice to get away from all the crowds. Your go now ;D

I'm pretty sure I know this one also but I'm off to a car show in Dowerin for the weekend not back till Monday night so I'll leave it till then to guess, and hopefully someone has already picked it before then. If I'm right all you other side of the map people may want to browse thru the social scene pages of this forum and you may just come across the answer

Stop making these quizzes harder than they already are. It wasn't seeshell's comment, it was 3fifty1's comment that gives it away. I had to check through the threads in the Social Scene section of the forum, to see what might relate to these sorts of things. Funnily enough, I looked through a thread about the Bunbury Heritage Museum and there's an identical photo to the one you've posted above. Not sure what the connection is yet...but I'm working on it!! cheers, Al.
