Certainly is very unique. I assume it is still a caravan and has not been turned into a 5th wheeler..

Certainly is very unique. I assume it is still a caravan and has not been turned into a 5th wheeler.. It still has a respectable coupling the overhead cupboards are all there, fairly empty inside, the caretaker said the lady it was built for passed away & he wanted $3000.00 Images flatter the finish.

G'day there Bobt and all, Well we're not quite on the road as yet, but it's getting close, With a bit of luck, we will be off on our Wild Flower trip in about a month or two,
Our rough plan is to head out of Perth and traveling up the Indian Ocean Drive towards Geraldton, We will spend a week or so camping on the coast, doing a spot of fishing, before heading East to Mullewa,
From there we will be in amongst the Wild Flowers and spend a few weeks touring around the general area, having a good look at this year's display, which by the way, promises to be a ripper.
Perth and the West Coast is at present getting plenty of rain, so this should help to bring on the Wild Flowers from about July onwards.
I will be posting a few pretty pictures here, if only to make everyone wish they had their Classics finished and on the road.
Is anyone else planning to do the Wild Flower tour of the West Coast this year
Cheers for now kiwijim

Howdy Mustang, I don't know what is going on with this Computer, or is it this Forum's settings, ? I haven't been receiving any Email notifications of tread updates from this Forum for some time, this is rather annoying as I've missed catching up with some older Members such as Atog, and many others who I've known for many years. If you have any idea what is wrong, I would be mighty grateful to hear your comments.
Cheers K.J.

G'day Bobt, I've still got the Big white Box, Not a patch on the old Glen Eagle though, I did intend to buy the old girl back some time back but, I have a horrible feeling it may have been destroyed in a Bush Fire which went through that area of the hills late last year. I went looking for the house where the owner lived but all I found was burnt-out homes, Damn pity after spending heaps of coin and 5 Years work on its rebuild.
Yes I will be posting plenty of photos in the next few months, you'll see plenty of Wild Flowers but there won't be a Classic Van sitting amongst them this trip.
Cheers Jim

Look forward to the Pics. The Thompson was the real classic..
But... All Caravans are Classics some time in their life.

Great pictures Mustang, The Kenny looks really neat, and what a great place for a camp site , It sure looks a lot warmer than what it is here in Perth at the moment, 0.6 Deg last night. I'll bet that picture was taken in QLD somewhere,

Love the juxta position of spaceships as dreamed in different decades. Good luck with the hubcap find on the way back! Edit: The unforgiving light in the group shot shows a fair V smooth situation clearly. Do you know if the Kenny molds are like that or was that via the resto process?

Hi Ate, The way this poor van was trashed I don't know. The outside walls are fairly rippled but very solid, I believe Sunliner's & Kennedy's had their fair share or "Wobbles in the Glass".

Hi Ate, The way this poor van was trashed I don't know. The outside walls are fairly rippled but very solid, I believe Sunliner's & Kennedy's had their fair share or "Wobbles in the Glass". I was curious as the old Sunliners have many similar bumps from poor mold fairing, Kenny is my first eyeballed Kenny! NOTE in glass you can have solid 2inch think core, with unfaired lumps, the only issue is fairing down to the lowest spot and ending up with a 3/4 inch thick final result! Non factory bubbles come from localised sanding/ repairs. A torture board about 1m long is a blokes best friend, then fill up (if thin laminate) or hit off the high spots to a more solid beastie. The powerboat industry took some tumbles with the old chopper gun ( chopped strands sprayed onto brushed resin) I am sure caravans built at the same time were formed similar. The issue was no real way of knowing how much glass was laid up. One of the original reasons for the luney tunes practice of using timber stiffeners, a weak point and time bomb for years later.

Vincent & Kenny will be attending "Christmas in July in Canungra" this coming weekend photos to follow. Canungra lived up to its reputation at its coolest 2.5 Sat Morning. Camping was cozy to say the least with heaps of vans packed in. this space was soon filled!!! And a couple more snuck in here!! Then there was an overflow to the oval. Thank you "Smiles" for a nice break.
