G'day missbee, and welcome to the forum! ;D I had to rearrange the photos in your post because they were trying to fit side-by-side rather than one below each other. Now all is good. There is still a bit of uncertainty about the age of this particular Viscount model. My research tends to put it in the 1968 year, but other people believe it fits into 1966. I keep collecting chassis numbers (which I will also do with yours), and hopefully one day it will all fall into place. So, for the moment you are looking at somewhere between 1966 or 1968. The painted design on the sides of the van was available in a number of different colours, as this photo shows... The fact that your van is from the 1960s means you are eligible to join our sister forum for Vintage Caravans built before 1970, if you wish. You won't learn anything more about your van over there, because I'm the resident historian for Viscounts over there as well (...You did know that Ambassador caravans were built by the Viscount company, didn't you? ) If you'd like to see what's on the Vintage forum, click on this link, and hit the "Discussion Forum" button. OR, you could just stay here with this friendly crowd!! ;D ;D Talking about your van... - Looks to be in pretty good condition.
- You're not likely to worry about the 'time' when you're on holidays, especially with the clock on the front wall missing the hands, heh heh. Make sure you keep the clock. Rare as hen's teeth. Just pinch some hands off another clock and fit them on.
- You could probably still buy a replacement glass shade for that front light if you wanted to. It won't be an original, but it'll do the job.
Overall, a pretty tidy van, and well worth the effort to get it looking ship-shape again. ;D ;D cheers, Al.

Hey Al Thank you for the Information u have given me, Very Helpful, Its nice to know that my grandparents caravan has some history besides the memories. The Stripes down the sides were actually a Pink colour although they are very faded since being outside. It also has the original annex aswell and almost looks brand new, the roof did have a small hole in the annex but i have gotten it repaired. Would u be able to help me by telling me where I can get replacement shades, the original was warped and ended up being taken off. Thanks, Bee

G'day again missbee,
I've changed the heading of your thread to reflect the actual details of your van. ;D
Forum member kiwijim is probably the best person to give you ideas about how to get a replacement stone guard/weathershield. Sometimes they crop up second-hand on ebay, but then you have to get them 'posted' from wherever to your place.
If you still have the old one, you might be able to get a caravan repairer to fix it up for you.
Let's see what kiwijim (or others) can suggest.
cheers, Al.

Howdy Missbee, The light shades you are chasing were available at Camec ( 12 months ago ) and may well be still available, the shades or lenses come in 3 different sizes, 8" 10" 12" so you will have to measure across the light base to find what size you require. Another place to try is any good lighting shop, just make sure they are the deep recess type, otherwise you will have to use the small fridge globes, As far as stone guards go, I would be hesitant to buy one 2nd hand as they do shrink after a couple of years, I would suggest that you go to a person who manufactures Annexes and awnings, if they are worth their salt, they will be able to make you one, using foam backed vinyl, to the exact size of your caravan. Now window shades, the best place to score one of these is as Al said, keep an eye on E bay, they do come up now and again. You could check your local caravan repairer, if they have been around for some years, there is a good chance they will have a few lying in their "spare parts shed" There again, if you happen to live in the West, I have a couple in my back shed............. good hunting, kiwijim

hi Missbee your van looks great. just like our van Sparky a 68 or 69 Ambassador but not with those great bunks. check out the thread 'silver viscount ambassador' ditzygypsy.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=photos&action=display&thread=454 you will see the simmilarities, clock, stove cuboards etc. the Viscount history thread has some fantastic information about our vans and some classic pictures in adds showing the perfect 1970 family in their van. also the thread '1971 viscount royal 15ft 5095A' ditzygypsy.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=photos&action=display&thread=849 shows a similar van in original condition with the roller blinds. we've had some fantastic holidays in our Sparky hope you love yours too. have you named it? all the best. Hi SamnJohn, Welcome to the Classic Forum,
This is a very old post, which causes confusion.
Best way to get help here is: *sign up to the forum. *Start your own thread in the "Hall of Fame" *Post images of your van through an outside agency ie Photobucket ,Tinypic * Look for tow bar numbers etc.
