Hey crew! Just signed up as this forum keeps coming up when searching for classic Millard info!
I have been currently working on an 18 foot, single axle Millard 6 berth van that had sat for a very long time, but the main issue is that the roof had a tarp that had water pool in it causing the roof to collapse in. I have gutted it back to a floor, and walls and also removed the whole roof frame and skin. I will be tig welding a roof frame to replace the rotted out red cedar.
My current question is chasing vin numbers. I realise that due to its age, it may not come up in the new systems. I saved this van from going to scrap and have no paperwork or rego as it was a deceased estate farm clean. The chassis is in amazing condition and still has the original vin plate on it, I can't see any holes in the rear skin to indicate a number plate being installed at any stage. So it may have spent its whole life in that spot?
Anyway, the vin starts with an M54 and is 1 letter, 5 numbers. Is it possible to blue slip it with this number? Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers, Scott Innes.
