A quick thanks for your advice on the “Hi-lite” with water damage, from reading some other threads here I can see what massive problems can be hidden behind panels. I would like to think I would be able to fix most problems but don’t feel the need to go looking for them. I am amazed at the results some of you get with your renovations and admire your adventurism in tackling them.
I love the look of these old vans and still intend to work on the old York I have. We picked it up as payment for a days work for 2 of us in a small vineyard, cleaned it up sealed the leaks and repainted the outside. we ended up remodelling the inside to fit 3 adults for sleeping as it is only 12 foot long but there’s still some old water damage from before we bought it, the shed it was in lost part of its roof during a storm. The van was badly hail damaged on the roof right side and end 2 years ago with all lights gone, some broken windows and some of the paint looking like it had been sand blasted, but it still is watertight. We will be following posts and asking questions on our journey getting this van to suit us thanks in advance dave
