Today I took Vincent to a caravan repair yard for a pre purchase inspection for a potential client. (The yard their choice) All Ok but the front power point was reported as faulty & the fridge would not light on gas? At home the fridge started immediately on gas & the power board ran a high wattage grinder, go figure? Would the RCD immediately cut out with a 240v fault? one would think so. I sent the potential client a phone video, but have not heard from him. Some of the workers asked if I just towed it out from a barn find? I would not go to this repairer for a repair!!!!!!!!!!!!

G'day Brent,
I gather the repairer didn't offer any more info about how they determined the power point was faulty? Did you install new ppts in the resto?
The fridge on gas is a mystery, hey?
Agree that it can be frustrating when you independently test the supposed faulty items and they work first go.
Hopefully you haven't lost a potential sale.
cheers, Al.

Hi Al, Any faulty appliance we have had (kettle toaster etc) in a van, the RCD throws the power off in a mili second. The point/board is new & installed professionally, both my daughter & son in law are electricians. Funny you mention a lost sale, that feeling crept over me immediately, you can see the client... HMMM faulty 240v & Gas.... I hope my video heals the doubt. Cheers. My Video link
UPDATE: After no interest for months I now have another local interest coming to look on Wednesday.
