Would anyone be able to tell how to bleed the hydraulic system on caravans fitted hydraulic brakes. The master cylinder needs to be replaced. Not quite the same as bleeding car brakes.

The process is the same, assuming the handbrake lever, the the process is the same just operate the hand brake lever instead of the car foot pedal, if the braking system does not have a handbrake lever and the braking system is a Vacuum brake system then use the car brake pedal of if fitted the manual vacuum brake lever, the process is start at the furtherest wheel (by hydraulic Lines) and work back.
Sorry about the lack of detail as it has been 40 years since I have bleed a Caravan with hydraulic brakes also not knowing the full details of your Caravans braking System.

Rattles Thanks Rattles, that's what I thought using the handbrake handle, but I had to ask to make sure I would have done it correctly. Warren

Yep, handbrake lever as the brake pedal - the reservoir is a lot smaller so top it up regularly. Apart from that, pretty strait forward.

PS - Use Quality "Synthetic Brake Fluid" as ordinary Brake Fluid absorbs moisture from the air and this causes the cylinders to corrode/freeze.

Rattles I have read somewhere that the synthetic fluid swells up the old style rubbers . so the old truck got a good quality dot 4 . general maintenance make sure cap is on securely and every twelve months suck out old fluid refill with new bleed old fluid out of lines top up fluid good for another twelve months of just checking fluid before use.
