Hi all, thanks for the add👍👍. I have an 84 aerolite which has a rotted frame at the bottom and has started separating from the floor. The chassis is in good condition and has had the recall done with no crack visible. I’m interested to know if anyone has rebuilt the Frame using aluminium or repaired the existing timber frame. I have found the source of the rot and will be sika flexing the whole caravan to ensure no more leaks. Any advice would be much appreciate.
Thankyou
Michael

Hi Michael, The Classic Van Forum, fosters vans from 1970 to 1980, your van is a bit modern to most reno's here. We are happy to help but images are needed of the model & the problems. You can host pics from any 3rd party host. I use Imgur at the moment & previously Flickr. Flickr link Generally if you have rot in one part of your wooden frame, chances are there is more, the only safe way is to investigate & be prepared for a re-build. Cheers Brent

Being an Aerolite, the wood frame you're seeing is part of the sandwich panel construction, it's not a true timber frame. The ply, styrofoam and external cladding is pressed together with a timber surround so not easily replaced without removing at least part of the ply lining. I've replied to your post in The Reno Shed with my experience. Shelley
