I quite enjoy a beer on the verandah while we are having a nice rain after a hot day BUT, last night we had 136 thousand homes without power, some still out after last night's lightning show, I don't mind admitting I'm happy when these severe electrical storms are over.
Today the temp is looking at 35 degrees (high for here) so we will charge the torches again for tonight's show!!

I like a good lightning show (I’m an Electrician) 😁 but don’t get to witness them as much as I used to - we are in a rain shadow so almost all the storms around here go North or South of us.
Power wise I have a good genset so not fussed about it going out too much.

Been lucky here, 15years in this house it has gone dark 3 times after a storm... Each time the white box built for off grid stuff has either been in for a service or down the beach waiting for us to return.
With the power issues some places experience I wonder if we are advancing or going backwards with all this new technology..

We have been in SE Qld 26 years & I think every year is different, yesterday while working on my water pump woes, the humidity would rival Darwin, last nights storm produced 60mm, the rain on our tin roof was so intense it wipes out the TV volume, previous weekend 125mm, now we are mowing twice weekly, glad I'm not away.

now we are mowing twice weekly, glad I'm not away. I'm mowing twice monthly, and still think it's too often. Time to buy a goat for the yard Mustang.

I mowed mine early December - does need a trim now mind you, but the Pugs aren't getting lost in it, so it can wait a bit longer.
