This is from our new modern, but the principal is the same, for all vans. Our new van came without a wheel weight, shame on you Mr Roadstar, now a large 4x4 tyre will never be balanced & you would expect a chassis maker to know the impact of an out of balance wheel. AFTER:

I just get tyre place to do a static balance of the wheels.

Yes, have the wheels balanced on my van -not sure what difference it makes though.

My thinking is if a heavy 4x4 tyre needs this much weight then without this much weight there must be a terrible vibration in the van?? I have had top quality tyres with this much weight.

Always have mine balanced, if it is good for the car to stop vibrations then in my opinion it must be good anything that is being towed and as we normally travel close to the speed limit on the highway it does seem to make a difference and things run along smoothly. Had a trailer some years ago which was not balanced and it rattled all the time until we changed to old car wheels that had been balanced and most of the rattling stopped.

With new tyres the tyre mob I use automatically balances the wheels
