Hey Kiwijim
We want to encourage people not scare them away.... ;D
Atog... I support the tandem with the S series. I think that is a suitable representation of Classic..
Al You may find that a printer will print what we have if we can give it to them in a suitable quality and format... Please go hunting

Hi Boys,
Well it seems that the design appears to be agreed on and the demand seems to be there as well, so perhaps we could do a quick head count again and then search our mate base about printing colleagues and see what we can come up with for whatever numbers and put it all together again. Count me in for a couple of stickers probably 10 P.S. I will try and track down an old mate who might be in the right business to help us out but bear in mind I havent seen him for a few years and may have changed addresses, jobs or outlook on life by now. ;D ;D

I searched sticker printers and they are quite cheep to get made. Just email the final details to a printer and have them made. I am happy to buy half a dozen but I also agree we ned to sort out the naming issue as it's no use make 100 stickers and then in 3 months the name gets changed. I have experience building websites and happy to work on a basic site if it helps the cause.

4 stickers please : EdiT: As the name issue has stayed in limbo the last 5 years i wonder how relevant it is now? Currently this forum is most easily found via image search, i like many others googled then joined the vintage site, after a while looking for images of my old Franklin or similar noticed photobuket images piggybacking on this ditzygypsy thing then voila! NOTE: On page 2 of this thread is an excellent example of why most folks should not use photobucket & the resultant "frog of dissapointment" in place of an interesting image ( due to that pics bandwidth lifespan).

Hi, I too would like a couple or three of these stickers but I notice the thread lay dormant from 2009 until this month....5 years. So, whats the situation here? Are they available? Were they printed up and then all sold off? Is there a form we need to fill in? Cheers, Rob

Something else the group could consider would be wheel covers with a suitable forum logo.......but I guess our small numbers might be a handicap there. Cheers, Rob

Hi Guys, I'm Mark, founder and administrator of this forum as well as the vintage caravan forum. Am happy to print some stickers, however need at least 60 orders to make it viable to print a minimum of 100. I'll arrange a logo to be drawn up and put it to the forum for review. As for a website, they cost money! I run both forums at minimal cost out of my pocket, but there is no membership fees or profit derived from the forums, consequently there is no funding available for a website. If a forum member capable of building websites offers their services, happy to do that as well The hobby of classic caravans is only going to grow, so yes it is time to make things happen! Mark

G'Day Mark, Thanks for getting back to us on this. Obviously, I'm just new to the forum and am sticking my head out here (or my nose in) .....sorry 'bout that. But I thought the members had already decided on the sticker with the Valiant and Viscount, as displayed in earlier posts on this thread. Thanks for providing and maintaining this facility for us. I for one, appreciate it very much and I understand just how little thanks a person gets for running something like this and just how much its taken for granted. Well Done. & Thanks. Cheers, Rob

Hi Mark ET All,
Firstly - Thanks to Mark for providing us Classic Caravaners with this forum - free of charge to us - good job Mark and great to see you on our forum. I hope to see more posts from you in the future.
Next - I love the sticker Idea!! I'll have four (4) please!!
Next - I do have a couple of suggestions though:
01. Could the Caravan & Tow Car on the sticker be just a none-descript stick figure/cartoon/line drawing rather than an actual Model & Type. It seems that we Classic Caravaners are all on-eyed and passionate about our particular Model & Type - as we should be - and would prefer to see our own Model & Type on the sticker. I know that I would luv to see a 1970 Tandem Franklin EGG on the sticker but that may not suit everyone.
02. The web page name thing has been talked about for a long time. If a change of name incurs a cost then, at this time, I believe the name should remain the same as I do not think we Classic Caravaners are in the mind set of paying out money - from what I've read on this site as well as the VV'ers & SEQ VV Mob sites that is. Also, if a web site is advertised then I believe the WWW. or http:// should also be included as a matter of correctness (is that even a word lol) and attention to detail.
03. I believe that a new thread needs to be created under the 'General Board' section which refers particularly to this topic - as - unless you have been following this thread through the 'Classic Social Scene' section you would not know how to find this 'Sticker discussion'. That thread could also be made to remain at the top of the list until the situation is resolved,
I hope all this is helpful and again - thanks Mark for the Forum and your input.
Cheers, Des & Thora

Hello bobt,
In Mark's last communication to us ref the CC stickers on '28 Sep 2014 at 00:30' (above) he said "I'll arrange a logo to be drawn up and put it to the forum for review."
So far we have not seen it. (not to my knowledge anyway)
The delay could be for a number of reasons but there are (or were) many of us CCers who are eagerly awaiting (but not wanting to harass Mark) a design/designs to look at and vote on.
Could you please - in your capacity - ask Mask how he is going with the design/designs of the sticker.
Cheers & Tks,
Des

This thread is really just the first half of the story about the CC stickers. The second half is in this other thread: Classic Van StickersAt any one time, we really only get about 10 active members on the forum. People drift in and out at a fairly quick rate (once the reality of the work required in a resto sets in ). I reckon we'd have a hard time trying to get the numbers to justify getting stickers done. An organiser would end up with a heap of them spare, waiting for the odd new member who would like to have one. When I was a Moderator back when the stickers were printed, I bought 20 of them to help the fellas out that went to all the trouble. Still have a dozen or so of them somewhere. I used two of them on my Millard poptop, and then I dribbled another half a dozen out to people over the next four years or so. Certainly wasn't knocked over in any rush, that's for sure. cheers, Al.

Out of curiosity I spoke to the mob that provide my 4wd club with all its merchandise (I am the merchandise officer) to see what it would cost for stickers and what the minimum order would be. Minimum is 50 stickers. They are $1.20 each or $1.50 each for the UV laminate versions. This is based on 150mm width.
Interesting comments Al. I guess if there are only about 10 active members at a time and best case scenario everyone buys 2, that leaves someone with 30 stickers! I actually thought there would be more active/regular members.

Nup, lots of viewers, but not many post on a regular basis.
There's nothing to stop someone stepping forward and putting their hand up to organise another batch of stickers if the interest is there. I'd recommend getting expressions of interest from people to see how many would be prepared to buy them. Then you need to get agreement on the design of the sticker. And agreement from the owner of this forum (Mark Taylor) to have the forum Proboards address on the sticker.
cheers, Al.

I would have thought that with the new printing processes - it would be possible for anyone to print a few stickers for their own use. Pick your own design and go for it. All advertising is good advertising. Have to agree with Al - Many active members have dropped off - including me. The greatest way to get posting is to encourage others to do a renovation or rebuild. Everyone is interested in those and hopefully it will get plenty of posts discussing the rebuild. It just takes the one person to get motivated and much will happen. Have a look at Al's rebuilds or Kiwijim's or mine or . . . . . Cheers Atog the lurker

Glad to know about these stickers. I am in search of attractive vehicle wraps for my van and got to know about few reputed graphic designers through internet. Looking forward to hire them and have nice wraps for my vehicle at affordable price.
