Seems we can't stay away from the modern era, bit of a compromise, "I'll come with you in your Classic if you come with me in my modern" We had this built to our specs, only 16' 6", composite walls/roof, Dexter rubber suspension, lengthened drawbar ,custom storage box, gas heater, full shower, usual mod cons, first trip out everything worked well. Tare came in at 1850kg, the Prado registered 12.1 liters/100, very happy with that.ATM 2350KG. 230Kg ball weight is more than I would have liked but with a single not much we can do about that, there is a custom bike rack to be fitted to the rear, spare is under the floor. We looked at a lot of vans the new Roadstar builders have taken the level of finish to a higher standard than most.

Nice.
Have you run it over a weigh bridge?
Yep 16' is not very big at all. Mine 19footer is 21 foot inside not sure how they figured it was only a 19...
Where does your 16' start and finish? 😉

the measurments are usually the external body size. so a 16foot caravan is actually less than that inside as you are measuring the body of the caravan. 16foot used to be the default family sized caravan. Now it's considered "small" LOL.
for little 'vans. look at viscount nipper, little ripper, driftaway little robin etc...
I'm not a fan of the interior look of the current caravans. All the shiny white... so bland. If you have kids they will leave finger prints everywhere (and you would need sunglasses on to sit in them LOL). I prefer the well executed wood veneer look.

Your new van looks very well set up for two. I had to run out and check that the tap was still in the millard as your tap is the same one DSCN2525 by Bruce Brown, on Flickr

We now have the new tug wired up, & with 900km on the clock.
Toyota include the towbar on a 200 series but not the harness?? yesterday it took two auto leckies 7 hours to virtually pull every rear seat, panels, out of the vehicle. We now have brake controller, 2nd battery, battery monitor, 40amp BCDC Charger, CB radio, & I'm $2200.00 poorer.
The Prado cost me $3800 for the same job 6 x years ago & the harness was already fitted. (not the same guy.)
