Lots to do. Windows tomorrow to dry before putting them in. Get the caravan off the stands and weight it, we have a Caravan Weight Calculator, then order the axle with brakes fitted. Painting outside and fitting all the lights and Solar panel. Roadworthy and Rego. Sigh I think that is all in 4, did I say 4, weeks Mrs hh We had an engineer look at our Viscount with plans for a weight upgrade. (17'6") Due to the size of the chassis, he would only give us 1500kg if we went for 6 stud rims, 4x4 bearings & a 45mm axle. Left it as is 14" Holden with LT tyres & a 43mm solid sq axle. We weighed 1360kg fully loaded, inc canvas annex etc, came home & removed all the unnecessary, so I reckon we sit with about 1250kg.

Mine millard went over at 1160kg's still full of tools (but that made up for food and cloths that is in it when used ) as ran I out of time to clean it out.It has an aggregate weight of 2400kg's but kept well under 1300kg's single axle ford rims and bearings 45mm solid axle. being an old van I think it is better I keep an eye on its weight tows beautifully as is at 90kmh any extra weight would make it a chore to tow.

We are trying to get the Factory weight form new so we have a better idea of what weight we have. It is particularly frustrating not knowing the original factory weight of single axle Millard 16Ft

Tare weight would have been around 950 to 1000Kg. Gross around 1300 but exact data isn't available, you just need to go off what others have or from a previous rego if it was ever registered at a time that noted that data. With all the mods you've done, you were always going to be a lot heavier than factory. Given that you can get 2,000Kg axles though you shouldn't have an issue but not sure on what you need for rego up there. Down here you tell them what it weighs and they believe you and put that in the system. I'll be aiming to,get mine registered at 1,700 or so, even though it's tare weight is arond 1,200

How good does that green suit with the white, Wow looks so fresh. The green is similar to the little York we have here for parts. I didn't like the yellow/orange and the green is the interior colour scheme. You all will see when finished Mrs hh

When i look at the interior shots I have to remind myself this is a single axle!! Attention to detail & speed of the project AMAZING,the period is retained on the exterior with a WOW factor on the interior. Beautiful Job.

I was lucky enough to have a guided tour of this van when the owners bought it to Corowa for the Military vehicle swin in this year (they have a 101 like mine - well they have 2 actually). All I can say is it is even better in the flesh - when you walk inside it feels like stepping into a brand new modern van. The utilisation of space is amazing - it has an ensuite, the beds and a large kitchen - you wouldn't think you'd get alk that in there, but it is. Colour scheme is fantastic and the collection of items in the lime green is great - lots of kitchen bits, etc. While colour scheme was very well thought through and executed - all colours used came from a set of plates they bought. 👍😁
The first outing in this van was a run down from Logan down to the Vic/NSW border, then camping for the 2 weeks between Corowa and Cooma then I assume they are back home by now after thousands of KM.

Update.
In case you didn't know the van is no way finished... There is the pole carrier to be fitted. The front box for the BBQ and assorted hoses to be built. It is lovely to go away with but things need to be built to make things easier.
As Snoops/Gav said it was towed 5,000+ Klms around N.S.W. and Vic, towed like a dream behind the 101. We have had it out short trips around here and behind the Defender it equality tows like a dream.
Oh on coming home from the BIG trip we weighed it full of clothes, grocery's and water under 1800 kgs. Pretty happy with that
