Hello you all, I am sorry for my low participation in the forum, the conversion of the Hiace Commuter to a campervan has taken a lot of time ( not to mention money) but I am getting close to a completion. Good quality materials were used including marine plywood for the cabinet carcasses, Tasmanian Oak for frames, and a lifetime warranty German made vinyl floor planks. For the tops, I bought slabs of Silver Wattle, curtains total block (made by us, bastard of a job) and the cushions were made with the best quality foam that we can get (not cheap, with covers made of Warwick commercial material) Next job is the 12 volts DC installation to make it solar ready. Here are some photos, there are more in our Flickr site, www.flickr.com/photos/142844763@N05/

Great craftsmanship Arthur , The curtains will be worth the effort. Add one of those portable annexes & you have a caravan.

Thank you Mustang, the curtains are in now and we were thinking in an annex on the side and also using the back door when opened as a rood for a back extension as well.

Good idea about some shelter on the tail gate as wind & rain swirl, the breeze high pressure against the van body then the open under chassis, cause eddies against the inside still area, when the stove is on the cold air naturally wants to get under the warm cooking things zone. Only usually an issue on the brekky cook and making dinner.

Thank you guys for the kind comments, it is an ongoing project like the caravans dictated by weather and the back pocket.
