G'day Afish67, and welcome to the forum! I don't think we know enough about the Viscount models to answer your question accurately. At one time in the early 1970s, Viscount was offering the choice of 64 different layouts (yes, that's a whopping 64!). The Supreme was the top model of the range, so if there was a Deluxe version of the Supreme (and I must admit I've not heard of that version until now) then it's difficult to think what the Deluxe options would be. I doubt whether it would simply be based on layout, but that's possible I guess. My thinking would be that a Deluxe version would have had higher quality fittings, or options that gave the van more "bling". Do you have any information to say there is such a thing as a "Deluxe" model?? I'm aware that some of the Viscounts in 1976 (and perhaps later) were given the additional tag of "Grande Tourer", and this was before the new design Grande Tourer models were launched in 1980. cheers, Al.

Having looked at the gumtree photos, I don't see anything unusual about the layout. The upholstery is typical of that era. Perhaps the Roden stove/Rancho oven is a higher quality model than standard, but I'm only guessing. Door catches and hinges are typical for Viscounts, so there's nothing special about them. The fridge seems to be the standard Dometic model. The windows are the bubble-shaped acrylic/perspex rather than flat glass, so these might have been an "upgrade".
While the photos show the van to be in fairly good condition, I note the 'rusting' on the top of the overhead stove exhaust fan (rangehood), and the deterioration of the white acrylic paintwork on the rear of the roof and the lip of the body under the rear windows. This suggests to me the rear of the van has been exposed to the weather for quite a long time, and there may be some unpleasant surprises lurking in the rear cavity due to water ingress. I'd be thoroughly checking out that rear section before parting with my money.
cheers, Al.

Thanks Al That’s exactly what I was thinking and only asked the question in case I was missing something. Viscount probably threw the Deluxe on it and people thought that they were getting something special.

I noticed the listing for this caravan before this thread was started. It's located not very far from me. The listing states "fully original" but then describes "new tyres, refurbished wheels, refurbished draw bar/hitch/trailer plug"? Also, were electric brakes & bubble windows available in 1978? However, on the positive side, it's a nice looking van!
