Hello! Long time lurker first time poster I have purchased a viscount something something and am trying to identify the exact model & year. There is the fantastic thread on this website that ive had a look through, but all the photos are gone! Which has made it a bit more difficult. Im hoping the friendly community on this site can help me ID it And then, i will be documenting my progress as i renovate the van and get it up to scratch for occupation The chassis number welded on the draw bar is 95315 Here are some photos of the van

G'day bodes, and welcome to the forum! I think we are safe in saying your van is from 1979. We've seen a few Viscounts on the forum over the years that have had a chassis number starting with 9, but for some reason Viscount stopped putting the prefix letters in front of the 9. It might have had something to do with the plans to introduce the new models in 1979 which were known as the Grand Tourers and were a different shape to the older-style Royals and Supremes. It's hard to say whether yours is the Royal or Supreme model because it's been painted out. There's another thread on the forum currently being added to, and the Grand Tourer van in that thread has the chassis number 98xxx, or about 3000 numbers after yours. You must have one of the last of the old style vans before the new models started to be built. cheers, Al.
