Kalbar is traditionally a large car show & swap meet. There we were in a 35 degrees balmy Qld Friday: The Car Club President Vince (standing) was filling us in how many were going to arrive on Sunday: Saturday the weather turned typically Spring in SE Qld: Despite the efforts of the organisers with rising flood water, some of the Vintage Vans needed to be rescued : Walking was a tad sticky!!!! The sole Classic was a tad luckier: (we had a bank) The organisers were very appreciative of us adding to the show which went ahead despite very depleted numbers & more rain on Sunday. Hopefully we can make a presence next year.

After almost nil rain since March I have recorded in last few days 110mm, 160mm last night 30mm thats 12" & we were not in the thick of it at Caloundra. Still overcast here so when the sun comes out we will need the lawnmower going bigtime.

The only boat building facility in Hobart still makes them in Huon/King Billy etc, they sell for about $5000 for a 10' dinghy. Cheers

Do not forget that money begets things = much Huon, Aus Kauri etc goes to the mainland & things steamed and built. www.openboat.com.au/videos.html Carvel is nicer than clinker though!
