Happy Birthday to us Happy Birthday to us Today the 4th September 2017 is the 10th birthday of the Classic Caravan forum, created to cater for "Vans manufactured between 1/1/1970 to 31/12/1979 and all that go with them" Thanks to 'ditzy' and Mark Taylor for starting this forum and to the many past and present members who have contributed to this forum to make it interesting and informative. A magnificent effort for this forum to reach the age of 10 years! The Vintage Caravans forum started in late July 2004, and from time to time over the next few years after that, people with vans from the '70s would come on that forum and ask questions about their van. Mostly they were told to go elsewhere, because the Vintage forum only covers to the end of 1969. Eventually, it was thought there was sufficient interest in vans from the 1970s to justify having their own forum, and that's how this Classic Caravans forum came about in 2007. Over the 10 years we have been operating, there have been hundreds and hundreds of people share their stories about the van they've picked up. "How old is it?" "Where do I start??" "Where do I find this bit, or that bit?", and thousands of other questions. It would be very hard to find someone who has learnt nothing from being a part of this forum. Congratulations to each and every person who has contributed to this forum, whether it be just the one post, or a thousand posts or more. You have all made this forum a valuable place to come to for information relating to caravans from the 1970s. Happy Birthday!! cheers, Al.

Caravans have stood the test of time in Australia. The proliferation of caravan pages on Facebook is staggering, even the new industry shows no signs of waning, even though many are junk & will never see a resto.
Thank you to the members here who constantly log in & contribute. Happy Decade Classic Caravans.
