I am on the road at the moment. Heading from the warm north back to the cold south. I wish other states would run similar proggrams to that which caravaning qld are running.

I booked in for the Brisbane inspection a couple weeks ago and must have been lucky to get a spot as I heard that if you want to book in for any of the venues now you have to go on to the waiting list. Today took our Riviera to the safety checks at the Brisbane exhibition grounds. They had a good turn out as they had 4 lanes weighing RV's. When we drove into the tent(sample bag pavilion during the ekka) I was amazed by the number of people coming over to check the caravan out. It appears old caravans have some sort fascination. Because the tare on the rego papers is 100kg lower than what it should be I would be close to ATM of 1100kg. It came in at 1120kg and that was with the water tank empty. That missing 100kg would have been useful. Looks like I will be putting some gear from the caravan into the ute. I asked the inspector if there were many over weight caravans and response was about 90% of 30 or so they have weighed up till I arrived were overweight.
