Hi all,
I really need to teach myself how to use the search function better as I always struggle to find threads...I am sure this has been asked a thousand times before...
Due to cracking of not very old Nankangs fitted by the previous owner, I am changing my 13 inch LH torana rims to 14 inch holden rims and wanted to know what size tyres were fitted at the factory? What is the preferred size for this rim? I know the tyres will need to be LT construction.
Also whats the best pressure to run for a 15 ft van?
Thanks!

In relation to the wheels, to buy the HT rims new from Camec I can get either a 5 inch or 6 inch wheel for $105. I am guessing the wider rim means you can run wider rubber (depending on room) and more stability?

Do you know anyone with the tyre wheel combo you seek, I recall fitting LT's to the old Coronet 14ft'r in Alice years ago and we had to jack it almost clear of the chassis. That is raise the van from the chassis (not the axle) and then lever the axle to ensure the tyre would go in without wrecking the panel work. Changing a flat would be right annoying if it had happened with that setup. The 8ply LT's were a tall tyre.

I run 14" x 6" HT Holden rims with LT tyres. We weigh 1360 fully laden & I run them at 40psi cold. Items on shelves etc sit there with only drawer liner material under.

What size tyre are you running mustang? I have heard a few people saying 185s are the way to go.
Going to look at some rims in Sydney tomorrow. Assuming they are in fact HT holden wheels in ok condition all the guy wants is a six pack.

Assuming they are in fact HT holden wheels in ok condition all the guy wants is a six pack. Ours are Yokohama 185. They are reliable in that they both increase 5/6lb psi after they warm up. Cost $90 ea (12 mths ago) a guest had a caravan tyre repaired while staying with us & the charge was $35.00 for a plug. So now I have my own repair kit.
