Hi All,
I have bought a sheet of Laminex and applied it to my new dining table today. I would also like to use it as the splashback (as was done in the factory).
Is there anything special I need to be aware of or can I just glue it to the wall? The Laminex group advised its not to be used as a splashback. Should it be behind glass? Should it be mounted to a fireproof board before attaching to wall?

I would expect the warning is due to heat from cooking? If you have no fixed gas cooktop in the vicinity I can't see any reason why your idea would not work.

There is the factory 2 burner stove next to the sink but there is a fair amount of distance between the stove and the splashback. The stove is a lot lower than the base of the splashback for a start...

originally it would have hat a lid above stove you raised lid to use stove that protected the laminate the old chesney's lid was aluminum on bottom with aluminum edging and laminate on top this made extra bench top when not using stove.
