As the photos are slowly disappearing before our eyes I would encourage any sunliner lovers to join the Vintage Sunliner Lovers facebook page and post photos there. All the early photos from the links to the sister forum are slowly disappearing I will endeavor to copy them (if time permits) from the early posts eg. JBJ's posts cheers Read more: vintagecaravans.proboards.com/posts/recent#ixzz4lYlJTz7J

Hi Murray, To remove the historic value of the VV & Classic forum images is unforgivable. I can understand PB if all new images were to be charged for (for whatever reason) but this behavior is disgusting.
Apparently imageshack have gone the same way, how do they think they will survive?
Personally I find this forum clean & neat, FB frustrates me. Good luck with your site.

SGTL has all her photos wiped .....a sad day. Not much on this site has disappeared yet ? only johnau. Don't even know if mine are up as you can still see your own. The sunliner facebook site has links to all the renos from SEQVVMOB and VV forum . Have lost all the SEQVVMOB ones as they went to FB a few months ago. I have copied all the VV forum ones to repost later somehow. I will annoy individual members later for photos/story's when the dust settles. Check out the page and you may convert back to fibreglass linkcheers

I just joined up to your group. Think of the rolling chassis Kennedy from Wild Dog Caravans, is this close enough to a Sunliner?

We may have to think of a name change Have to admit "Wild Dog" is terrible, but the van is still a Kennedy from the original 50yo molds. I've had a few conversations with Mark, a really nice guy.

Facebook used to be easy, but the kids who run things make constant changes = grrr BUT When you understand to click Album then upload to that, give it a name, then all pics will be in that album. Anything on a timeline will be a game of hide a seek, later, depending on the activity level. Again it is a we get what we pay for on the web. The reality is that with offshore hosting, the cost of one or two members paying photobucket, would see a years hosting for gigabytes of forum database images! A few forums i am on have a yearly donation drive to keep it ad free and images secure.

Spotted this post on FB that may be of interest to Sunliner owners:
Murray Plaister to Forster / Tuncurry NSW Australia
Another write up about our 60th anniversary Sunliner Caravans 'Show and Tell'
When: Sun 2 Sep 2018, 9:30am-12:30pm
Location: John Wright Park, Tuncurry
Phone: 0468 990 427
Email: kimbayne@bigpond.com
This year commemorates the 60th anniversary of the first Australian lightweight fibreglass caravan.
And, it was all done in Forster by Bert Tickner. His ambition was to develop a fibreglass caravan which was so light it was capable of towing the VW Beetle he once sold. Mr Tickner designed three models ranging from the 13 foot Victory which sold for 695 pounds through to the 16 foot Sunliner Super selling for 1095 pounds. At one stage Sunliner was Forster’s biggest employee.
A group of Sunliner enthusiasts will be holding a celebration ‘show and tell’ at John Wright Park, Tuncurry on Sunday September 2 from 9.30am-12.30pm. With over 30 vintage caravans on show (the majority being Sunliners) this is your opportunity to see what Forster has produced many moons ago. Free entry!
Enthusiasts and ex-Sunliner employees are also invited to join the group, who will be staying in the Great Lakes from August 31-September 2.

Sunliners were my second choice of fantastic plastic vans. Only because of height issues. Lovely vans, pity the photobucket thing is happening.
Cheers Atog
