Hey,
I'm new to this forum and wondered if anyone here could help. I have a 1975 Viscount Dural that has a broken front right window so I need to replace the glass. Is there somewhere I can find the exact glass measurement as the pane is broken and I need to get a new one cut. The seals and frame all look ok as the van is in very good condition.
Cheers Tim

you could take it to a good glazier they should be able to replace with glass or perspex.

Hi Tim, Welcome to the forum. Is there a reason you are not removing the frame, to insert the new glass/plexi. The old glass will give you the size &edge radius (if applicable)
I used Plexi on my windows the weight saving is enormous, & the plexi will stand flexing. Good Luck

I used 3mm Perspex on my Franklin. Was very easy to trim up with an elec jigsaw

I used 3mm lexen for all my windows (like perspex). Got each window cut to size using the old glass as a measurement. Just had to trim the rounded corners myself with a router. As others have said. Weight difference is amazing. Also no more cracking on rough roads!

Thanks for all the replies. I'll look into perspex instead of glass, but I'd rather keep it original and perspex can get scratched. I've taken the window frame out so can work out the sizing from that, and I have access to a jigsaw.

G'day stealthy, If the Viscount showing in your avatar is the van you are calling a "1975 Dural", then you can consider it to be from an earlier time period. That "lightning bolt" design painted on the sides is from 1969 and 1970. Your chassis number on the drawbar will be the letter 'A' followed by some numbers up towards the 10000 mark, or it could be a low set of numbers with the letter 'A' at the end of the numbers (it all depends on whether your van was built before or after Viscount changed the numbering system in 1970). The full model name is "Duralvan" rather than just 'Dural'. cheers, Al.
