Does anyone know how to jack up to change a wheel on the viscount ambassador there doesn't seem to be any place to put a jack or should I use the axle? And do I need a special jack? Any suggestions thank you

Hi gvh, Easiest way is to have 2 jacks, one under the axle and one under the main chassis rail behind the wheel. Jack under the axle first, then jack up body with other jack, might have to remove the wheel spat as well, depends on how much room there is! Good luck! Cheers hughdeani

Repco over Easter had bottle jacks half price. These little jacks are great for low axles & confined areas.

If your going to use bottle jacks make sure you have a stand under it before you pull the wheel off. Its easy for a caravan to slip off a bottle jack.

If you have a land rover ... Use it's jack. It's a two stage bottle jack with an axle carrier type fitting at the top to reduce the likelyhood of it slipping. (ie: the top of it is shaped like an axle stand).

maybe make something like that up to sit on top of bottle jack piece of pipe and thick flat bar bent to shape and welded on top of piece of pipe maybe a nut welded over hole in side of pipe so a bolt can hold it to top of jack.
