You could build a box over the wheel arch have portable toilet on box shower head above this should utilize some room for you.

I was thinking the same, making something up that will provide a rigid base without putting any pressure/weight on the guard itself. I guess it will be a trial and error thing.

I am not sure if you have started or perhaps even finished this project yet but we were looking at putting a shower and toilet in and were looking at using a shower wall (two sided) called Mondella from Bunnings. It is a lightweight but sturdy plastic and is in various sizes and you can also cut it to size. We had looked at a shower base on eBay that had a raised bit for the toilet then the recess for standing in the shower (835mm x 1200) but that would be too big for where you want it. There are some at 700 x 800 also on eBay. We had looked on youtube and found one guy who used the lino for both the walls and floor of his motorhome which seems to work really well if you make sure to seal well with silicon between joins. Also on youtube someone made a frame over the wheel arch and put the portaloo on that and had space for shower beside that. I guess it depends on how much of your area is taken up by the wheel arch. Good luck with your installation.

Thanks jadora, yes looked at all options and the one I am more keen on is the lino solution as this allows more of a flexible approach. I havent started yet but will do over the next month. I am in a similar position where the loo will need to sit on the wheel arch box and the shower next to this.
The other issue I am considering options for is lighting and fan. The more I think about it the more I am inclined to go with a ceiling based hatch... it means having to cut a hole in the roof but I dont see many options for the amount of space I have.

Interesting vents there Ate. I mounted a whirlybird as it looked period, works great but can dump some water on the bench in heavy weather. In hindsight one of these trouble free vents would be the answer.

The main issue with whirly birds on any structure is when you need them there is no wind! The stand alone solar one means no issues with electrics. Used in conjuntion with say that nice Camec hatch with 12v fan & light means all bases covered night / day and in storage. Most classics allow enough air intake via the fridge/ gas vents, i would think.

When I tried to get a gas certificate on the Kennedy I ran into this problem, no floor or ceiling vent & the fridge venting into the cabin. The original layout on our Viscount made for the fridge to purposely vent into the cabin which I copied, now after talking to two gas guys I,m going to block the fridge off from the cabin, it is flued & has a full height louvers on the outside with a 12 fan, so that should be enough to cool. Do you know how noisy the solar panel vents are? Cheers

The fan is almost silent even on full sun revs, then again the background noise of water bubbles slapping the hull may have hidden any whirrrr noise lol. I did not know how noisy 12v small fans are, a month ago i would have said the blades on the solar fan are too small to make noise until... someone left a small truck/ bus style mini fan with approx 250mm diameter thick blades, plugged it into my booster & blow me!, the thing is 4-5 X louder than my big mistral! I am currently changing the body into a bigger defunct 240 unit with awesome case & whisper quiet blades so it should be a nice unit, a bonus as recycled fan & motor and the old fan case not sent to landfill.

That is the same set up we have settled on. The floor on ours has a place I can set up a hose and pump it to the gray water tank when I get it bolted under van. I just got the porta potty and will set it up in shower tent in annex down the rear of the van and for over night the porta potty can sit in cupboard until needed if too cold or too far away to toilets. Though it will come in handy for the 4 and 6 year old granddaughters when we go to kangaroo island no late night trips to the loo and waiting in the cold for them to finish.

I’m very interested in all of this as I’m thinking of doing an en suite as well. But the frustrating thing is not being able to see the pictures. Is there something I can do so I can see the photo bucket pics???

No, Photobucket killed off 3rd party hosting so pretty much all of them have gone to God, most people (myself included) cancelled their photofuckit accounts when they did this. Unfortunately I don't have a lot of the pics I uploaded - they were on a phone that died.
I can take more when I'm next down at the van - it's at the inlaws place at the moment as I've been travelling down there a bit.
If you've got some pics of your van, how about starting a thread in the 'hall of fame' to show us what you have - we may be able to assist further. I'm using Flickr now, which works ok.
