Thanks Tazmillard It is coming up trumps, next is the 2K paint scheme to match my 1960 El Camino towing car. I have just worked out photo bucket so will post more pics soon. The walls and ceiling are polyurethane Gloss White 3mm ply. Brought from The Bunker.

Here are some more updates of my van. I ordered brand new log cabin profile cladding, I fitted new insulation all through and fitted exterior cladding. Floor has been laid next step will be to paint the van in a colour scheme the same as my 1960 El Camino which will be the tow car. A couple of those attached. I just picked up my new Retro Fridge , microwave, toaster. and kettle package. I am just waiting on a 4 metre roll out awning to fit to the side of van. Once I have fitted awning I will waterproof and close all cladding up. Finally on the home straight.

It must be a week of bling, looks like yours will be added to the list with a few others on here with show piece vans (and vehicles). I see your colour scheme matches the vehicle, going to look great when done. I got a retro looking kettle and toaster and want a fridge to match. So where did you get yours and isnit a 12/240 or only 240v?
Im also, super jealous of the huge shed you have, i think it makes or breaks a large project in terms of time... not having to work around weather patterns.

Thanks buddy Yeah I will be showing the van with the Elky. I just got back from sanding or taking the shine off the bottom part of cladding. Shes nearly ready for paint. Then Ill fit new roll out awning. The colour scheme will look awesome with the split window front point rounding the sides all Roman Red same as my Elky. All Retro fridges etc from Aldi cannot buy from anywhere else. They are made by Sterling. They are absolutely fantastic products 😊👍

Hi Rocketrod. im a newbie here and your work is amazing and really inspiring. Ive just started on an ambassador myself!! it was mostly stripped already and now i've pulled up the old floor and started grinding the chasis. what did you use to rust proof the chassis?? and how much of it did you have to grind back??

Hi Danielson, Rocket rod has not been on the forum since Oct 16 ,so your message may go unanswered. We would all love to see Rocketrods complete duo, an amazing detailed reno. To answer your question, you only have to take off the rust & rough up the existing surface, your paint shop will be able to recommend a product. Chassis Paint link

RocketRod is a regular on the Viscount Caravan Owner's facebook page and this van is looking schmick I have a '73 Ambassador as well and am in the process of doing my chassis, I have taken all the flakey paint and rust off with a wire brush and wire wheel, coated it in SCA rust converter, sealer, primer from Supercheap and painted it with Rustguard primer. I also had a couple of cracked welds which have also been repaired.
