Hi all, I am so happy to have come across this informative proboard!! We bought a 1973 Viscount Royal and it was pretty rough but we are now working on it every day to get it up to scratch. Firstly it was painted in a Solar guard paint on a couple of sides and we had to get that off. Some of the paint stripper took off the original paint underneath as well so we are back to silver aluminium on some areas. The roof leaked for years and the whole van had a smell of dampness. We stripped out all the original cupboards, walls and ceiling and it was mostly rotten. There are two old hatch spaces which we are going to make smaller and all the wood work around them was rotten too. The old draw bar had seen better days and now that is all fixed up and looks like new after a few days of welding!! We bought a new jockey wheel and it looks really good. I will keep you all posted what happens next.
