The 48- 215 in this guys collection is car #46 (Original) one of 112 models made in 1948 It was listed for sale at $1.2m (Not sure if it has been sold in the last auction)
The first handbuilt prototype (restored) was sold to the National Museum Canberra for $650000.00
The second car, believed lost , turned up in a job lot of seven cars from a deceased estate for a total cost of $15000.00
Number three prototype (they were all made in the US) was sold in 2013 for $672000.00
The sixth built. This car is known as old number 1 & was the car used with Ben Chifley Nov 1948 for the launch of Holden, the property now of GMH.
The full circle, Holden started with Chevrolet in the US & now have ended up as Chev's.

Probably not as much as you might think the 30's chevrolets do not seem to go for big dollars like the fords of the same period a club member recently bought a beautifull fully restored '34 coupe for under 30K where a '34 ford in similar condition would be a 50K plus car

It was a dream to own an early ford, never found one I could afford always seem to end up with Chevs!!!! Keeping it was never going to happen, sold a house at the same time, wish I still had that, none of the money ended in my pocket I just got all the debts.
