Hi, we're new to this forum and I'm not even sure if the van we want exactly fits into the 'classic' moniker but figured we would try anyway!
Myself and my partner Kylie are based in Geelong and have an affliction towards the classic Chrysler automobile. Mainly 70's Aussie Vals and a stray Charger or two, though there is an earlier American cousin in the shed too. We have been keeping an eye out for years for a suitable small, period correct van to tow behind my VJ Valiant sedan with no luck so thought we'd try a different approach.
We are searching for a 12ft pop top, somewhere around the 800 tare weight for duries behind the Val.
We have found the exact Van we are after in a 1978 12' Franklin pop top currently for sale in Melbourne. The layout and size is perfect but it would need some tidying up (read: extensive 5 year restoration if your anything like me)..I've been accused of being a bit fussy!! The van itself is perfectly functional but I know I would want it looking perfect!! We also found a perfect 1978 Viscount, also in Melbourne, in beautiful condition but the layout and style of the van just didnt click with us like the Franklin did.
Any suggestions or help would be much appreciated!
