A warning for those who use Photobucket to store their photos,
I turned on Photobucket this morning and received this message.............
THE SECURITY CERTIFICATE FOR THIS SITE HAS BEEN REVOKED, THIS SITE SHOULD NOT BE TRUSTED. !!!
Has anyone else received this pop-up notice ?
What program do you use to store your pictures ?
K.J.

That message means a site has not renewed their certificate: Good sites quickly pay the cash and renew it. My main issue is each pic has limited bandwidth, there are quite a few pics that do not display around the forum, not an issue on a limited audience but if popular pics can become "not found quickly" especially if uploaded and hosted uncompressed (example 2.5MB not compressed 350KB for same pixel size)

I just logged in, everything seems normal. My latest post buggered up because I moved two images to another album.

I'd suggest trying imgur.com. It's the most popular free image host for high traffic sites like Reddit, so it won't baulk at the requirements we have here.

I have been to this site a couple of times, and have never been able to see the photos, so, today I signed up, went through all of the rigmarole, and I STILL can't see the bloody pics! Even disabled my adblocker, checked that photo(f)ucket was allowed through my firewall, all to no avail! What bloody good is a website detailing the history of a brand, if one cannot see the pictures illustrating the posts? Essentially half of a day wasted for me, could have been outside working on the van...

Photofuckit want US $400 a year to allow you to host your photos now so no one bothers and they highjack your account so your pics are basically gone. Most of mine were on a phone that is now dead so I can’t reuload them to Flickr which is what I use now.

Hi justinl, As a newbe you possibly don't know about the trials & trouble PB has caused world wide, as Snoops has pointed out. There is a "photbucket embedded fix" that will allow vision of images (google it) I downloaded it from the Vintage Van site & it appears to work on other member's posts. However we now promote any site other than PB, see link here to use Flickr.

This addon works for Firefox - fixes the embedded link problem - pictures reappear.addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/photobucket-fix/Google and install the fix for Chrome or Internet Explorer. ** Fix only works at the browser level - there is no fix at the forum level (nor is it a forum problem to fix) I tested this addon against Mustang's build thread and all the photos seem to be there. Also checked against the Museum thread - can see lots of stuff again BUT any threads where the photobucket album has been deleted - photos are gone for good. After all the crap Photobucket caused, still better to use another service, but where that isn't possible, at least you can see the photos, follow the thread or download anything you need to save from the past for the future. Don't know how long this will last for though - photobucket is just as likely to block this again in the future.

Mustang re upped his pic thread, so not a good example

After the false start, good that it worked. I use another forum where almost everything was Photobucket hosted. Fixed it. Still wouldn't trust Photobucket to not change things again to break this fix. Hopefully, new fix would come out straight away and Photobucket would give up trying to block access (maybe they already have ). Anyway people, enjoy, and make the most of it.

Photobucket is past it's use by date in my books. I agree with you there Atog, well past it and they can stick it, with the charges they are trying to extort from users, I have managed to down-load all the photos that I wanted to keep, so they can stick the left-overs !!! There are plenty of other "FREE" sites that anyone can use, I hope Fotofucket go broke and become bankrupt very soon. K.J.

Photobucket is past it's use by date in my books. Most had moved on by 2005 It is only the slow page load folks & small in detail and big on small page image aficionados, that kept it alive so long.
