G'day didge,
M33423 would be from around the 1973 or 74 mark. The gas compliance plate is dated from when the regulations changed and caravans had to be certified for gas installations.
cheers, Al.

Hi all, In the interests of adding a bit more info to the database, we purchased an old Millard van (brown stripe) from a Gumtree seller about a fortnight ago. It was advertised as 1976 but I've since found the original electrical installation certificate dated 31 May 1974. The chassis number is M33263. Hope that helps, Rebecca happyhambycampers.blogspot.com.au/2014/10/millard-musings.html

Just want to introduce myself .... Im Wendy, the proud owner of what I think is a 20' Millard from the late 70s. I've been pouring over all of the fantastic info here and as its late here in NZ and I've just discovered that theres probably a clue welded on the drawbar - short of going out to the street (she's too big to fit up the driveway) with a torch, lol, and in the absence of any papers, I'll have to wait till light to add more info. I intend to refurbish and use the van initially as accommodation on a fixed site. Towing is a problem at present as my little 1300cc car pales in size and grunt to the mother of a van that arrived in my street last week ...... well thats me and W.illard W. Ive had a look on the drawbar and there isn't a welded number ...... the drawbar does look like its original, having seen the other ones on here, so any other clues please as to where I can determine the age. Thanks

Hi I am looking at a 1959 millard 12" caravan with vin 176 does this add up to any one G`Day & welcome Craig, the VIN number is a new thing, what gives an ID is the chassis number, welded into the A frame usually near the jockey wheel, if the original frame is still used, if not you might find some pencil/ pen markings inside / under a drew or cupboard top, otherwise it will be a mystery. Post a pic or 2 of the van & colourschme stickers etc & some of the smart guys here may know, if the chassis number is not there, see the hall of fame area & look at other Millards to see what i mean.

G'day kking, and welcome to the forum! If you click on this thread: 1974 Millard M31514 and scroll down the photos in the first post (to the 16th photo), you'll see the details of the van written on the reverse side of the panelling. So we have a build date of 27 Feb 1974 for M31514 and your chassis number is another 5400 after that, which would put your van into the first half of 1975 as an estimate. cheers, Al.

Hi
We just bought a Millard Caravan. Approx 1971. Is there anyway to find out the year, by chassis number?

And post plenty of pics, the rules are the same here as AULRO. There's at least half a dozen of us here now - must be something about old Land Rovers and old Caravans.

Welcome the hohars, we do love images but some of us on the road appreciate clickable thumbs that when travelling or finances limit looking at MB per month stuff, allow fast page loading using dodgey rural connections, plus do not want to pay $$$ to view those full size same pics each AND EVERY time that page is (* or cannot) be loaded, to follow a thread. Tiz 2016 not 2001 BB Code example paste [URL www.your pictures.jpg[ /IMG][ /URL] Click pic for full size instructions... * sometimes I get amazed at how many pics i have not seen with page timeouts etc, until i am at a mates or good wifi somewhere looking back on posts now fully loaded not just 1 or 2 pics.
