Newbie to caravaning

Hi all, we have just got this 1974 Chesney president. It's just over 16 feet and has had some work done to the inside. We loved the look of it because it has three bunks and is from the same era as us. Have stayed in a couple of time at our block and can honestly say we love having a solid roof after years of tent camping. Will be doing some work on it so will keep you all posted.

I know what you mean about moving on from a tent - we were tent people until a year ago when I got my van on the road - the poor old tent hasn't made it out the corner of the garage since...

Thanks snoops and Jm9422. The 12 v has been disconnected so would love to get some lights back in. The chassis needs to be repainted as does the exterior. We want to switch out the globes for LEDs in the existing cases for the external lights too. Fix some of the window clips. All up not too much. It has no leaks and the frame is sound so mainly cosmetic

That's a really nice looking van you have there. Here's a suggestion re the 12V lighting - why not disconnect the 240V wiring from the mains inlet and connect the 240V wires up to 12V instead. I assume the only 240V appliances you have are the fridge, microwave and maybe a powerpoint. It would probably be easier to rewire just these three items with 240V than try to redo the 12V wiring throughout the whole van.
