Hi all
My boyfriend and i had a rather crazy moment and purchased an old millard caravan to renovate. it has water damage so we have ripped out the inside and will be redoing the flooring too.
The thing is we are both very new to this, never done anything like it before, were not in any rush to complete but would like to get started properly and are having trouble deciding how to start.
obviously the roof needs resealing but we cant decide if it would be better to repair and seal, but we have an aircon unit that doesn't work on the roof so once we remove that we are left with a big hole to do something about or should we just replace the whole roof paneling with new? any recommendations or advice?
we also have some broken windows, not just the glass but the frames too, some frames are missing. is there a way to replace these with sliding windows or anything else that wont cost the earth?
any advice will be greatly appreciated as were obviously already in over our heads, good job we like a challenge!

Hi Millardreno, Which ever way you go with this the "crazy moment" is going to take a LOT of effort, time & cash. Do some research here & decide if you really want to proceed.
Unlike most renos, caravans seem to be more intricate. Advice here is flowing & free.
If you do proceed, glass can be relaced with perspex, windows can be bought by donor vans, renovator tools are reasonably cheap, a covered area to store the reno for the next year is a godsend. Good Luck

Well said, Mustang. Plans and time lines get delayed by many, many things. Wholeheartedly agree that the van needs to be put into/under a covered area asap is my tip to new players and we are still newbies at this game.
