G'day All,I've had a good time reading through a number of threads so far.... and thought it's well and truly time for me to join in. We've just spent our first few nights in our new/old Viscount Supreme. I reckon it's a 77 from the number on the draw bar, tri-axle, approx 30ft. not sure how to add pictures yet (?) It has a lounge and kitchen in the front, double bed in the middle and shower and basin in the rear. looks like it also had double bunks at some time but they've been removed. Its had carpet replaced at some time in the front half, and original gas fridge removed and an extra wall box A/C 'installed' above the wash area basin. From an untrained eye the rest of it looks mostly original.

The first fix i had to do was re-enforce the tow hitch, the plates that the ball socket fixes to had rusted to only a couple of mill thick and the 1/2 inch bolts were rusted to the diameter of about matchsticks. My next job will be to re-build the bunks that i think may have originally existed at the back. (if anybody has pics of original bunks or knows otherwise what would have been opposite the shower cubicle I'd love to hear from you)
Also I want to whack a new water pump in to use the shower.
I have plenty of questions for the learned populous of this site, but all in good time.

Welcome to the forum, which towing vehicle (beast) you have to tow that monster? G'day Gitano, It'll be an onsite van in Adelaide Hills for now. I towed it with an Amarok with out a problem on a trade plate. There aren't really any brakes left to speak of on the van but I just went slow from pick up in Clare Valley, it originally had the front axle with electric brakes and the middle axle with hydraulic brakes with a master cylinder on the draw bar actuated by the electric. Brakes still exist but not operating. The "see-saw" effect while towing such a long van was quite new to me and I was promptly sobered from 90km/h down to about 70km/h along the bumpy stuff.

Your sliding cupboard doors & seating is the same as ours which is a 1977. Certainly a unique van to be on the road. Last Image: are those switches in the shower?
