Rejuvenatin Aluminium on Windows and Other Trim

One of those questions that will have been covered before I know but.........what is the best way, method and materials, for giving the window frames and other trim a new shine? Cheers

If you read my Thread "Vincent The Viscount" you will see its just hard work.
I found the best was Course, Medium then fine (0000) Steel Wool saturated in inox, then
degreased, then use a quality metal polish.
Steel wheels will matt the finish, nylon are not bad, but the three steel wool grades worked best for me, just don't be in a hurry.

TIP: Finish one then you can admire it when you start the second. We had 13 !!!! & a door.

Thanks mustang. I thought I read somewhere on the net that using steel wool would result in fine particles of steel becoming imbedded in the aluminium and then rusting over time. A case I suppose of not believing everything on the net. Windows will have to wait as at this stage trying to get the thing registered is proving a bureaucratic nightmare. They want to apply design and safety rules that came into law in 1989 but the van was built in 1982.
