My family and I are hitting the road next year and we are still without a van. Searching desperately in Tassie for a 4 plus birth van in great condition. Reluctantly just sold my 10 foot 1964 crusader so Im all cashed up ready to find a mobile home. call or text if you have anything suited 0428725228

Budget is not really an issue if the right van comes along. I have searched gumtree morning and night for the last 3 months I reckon. Looked at a few vans that were advertised as "excellent" but clearly not ready to take on the road. Disappointing. I gave up hope in Tassie and looked interstate. The spirit of Tasmania is totally booked out until the new year now!

From the mainland? I brought a modern van across back in July. The Spirit was a real problem, we could get the car and van back to Tassie but couldn't get the car over to collect it. In the end we had the car shipped to Melbourne with Searoad and flew across from Devonport!

For the good of Tassie we need more boats, not only we are loosing tourist dollars but also it is hard for the exporters.

For the good of Tassie we need more boats, not only we are loosing tourist dollars but also it is hard for the exporters. Iam currently in Tas. We had major problems with the modern on the way down from Qld, (thank goodness the problems emerged on the way here) We enquired to post pone our booking untill repairs were fixed, no way, even for an existing passage ticket holder??? So the suppliers worked double shift to get us ready by the original booking. The "New Spirit" we were on is now a classy rig, I presume they have both been refitted?

Yes they took them both offline (one after the other) during the off season and did the refits on them.
They probably can't postpone your booking because they are fully booked. For some reason total forward bookings are more than 30% up on previous years and day sailings have apparently more than doubled. They are doing 800 crossings a year and there is still no spare capacity!
Of course when you do get on there, there's heaps of spare room, but they don't jam them in like they used to in the old days.
